Food Stamps Most Rapidly Growing Welfare Program - FL quotas are 150 a month per recruiter

"..........Tanner’s report, “SNAP Failure: The Food Stamp Program Needs Reform,” finds that in 2000 the cost of the food stamp program was just $17 billion. It has risen in cost to $78 billion today.

Spending on advertising and outreach for food stamps by federal and state governments has also increased, now amounting to $41.3 million a year.

States like Florida have hired “food stamp recruiters,” who have a quota of signing up 150 new recipients each month. Rhode Island hosts “SNAP-themed bingo games,” and the USDA tells its field offices to throw parties to get more people on their rolls......"

I can’t take this crap anymore. Whining and complaining about “free” money and a 5% cut.

It’s not a cut. It’s the end of a temporary increase.

This is more about setting the table for the 2014 elections. Dems can now say Republicans cut food stamps and their LIVs will eat it up.

Spending on advertising and outreach for food stamps by federal and state governments has also increased, now amounting to $41.3 million a year.

In other words, the cost of advertising (outreach) which neither produces nor consumes food, is 2-1/2 times the TOTAL amount of the program in the year 2000?

Yeah.
What can go wrong?

School age children are fed "free" breakfast and lunch at school.

Are food stamps cut when school starts? Should be!

I went to a local grocery store yesterday. When I entered a woman who had the 1000 yard stare of libtardism accosted me and handed me a list of things I could buy for “the food bank.”

When I came back out I handed her a 4 pack of Ivory soap.

“Thank you sir, but bars of soap weren’t on the list.”

“I know. Most of the people I have encountered who use the food bank smell like cigarettes and body odor. You might have to teach them how to use this, bless their hearts.”

As I walked away I looked back to see if she had picked her jaw up off the ground yet...

People are fatter than they have ever been.

What’s the problem? They won’t be able to buy as much potato chips as they used to?

For a family of four, the cut will be $36 per month .. Single adults will see their monthly benefits reduced to $189 per month, for a cut of $11.

“For a family of four, the cut will be $36 per month, or about 20 meals under the Department of Agriculture’s estimate for the cost of a “thrifty meal.” Single adults will see their monthly benefits reduced to $189 per month, for a cut of $11.”

$189 a month works out to $6.20 a day. That is nearly double what my family spends per person per day. No wonder the EBT people are always getting the most expensive food at the store, they have more in food stamp money than those of us who actually work and pay taxes can afford.
