“He was horrible in New England. He couldn’t complete a pass. He hung onto the ball until tackled. He simply didn’t have the skills to be on the team. I hope he finds another team with lesser backup quarterbacks.”

He played a little in pre-season and he did have some bad moments. His last game he played he did well, throwing some nice TD passes. But how many QBs are judged entirely on a few snaps in pre-season in that way. He has proven to be a winner in real games.

Belecheck even said he didn’t rule out picking him up later as he needed to get the roster at the limit at that time. But New England of all teams doesn’t need another QB. There are so many teams with horrible QBs. He should be on a roster somewhere. His hometown of Jacksonville would be a good team. I heard the owner is a Muslim. I don’t know if that has anything to do with the Jags ignoring the pleas of Jacksonville fans who are calling for Tebow but it is odd.

Look, I liked the fact that the Pats gave Tebow a shot in pre-season. He was terrible and did too little too late. The NFL is a passing league. Sooner rather than later running QB's better learn to be pocket passers if they have any hope of dragging their teams deep into the playoffs.

Right now Peyton Manning and Drew Brees have the Broncos and the Saints at 4-0 because of their ability to read defenses and find open targets. Tom Brady is 4-0, despite having a decent high school receiving corps, because of his ability to stand in the pocket and find receivers downfield. Andrew Luck is probably the best young QB in the league, and it's not because he's mobile. It's because he has a great arm, is extremely bright, and is quickly learning to read defenses the way Manning, Brees, Brady and Rodgers do.

Tebow? Great college QB, but Andrew Luck he ain't.

The next great NFL QB? Teddy Bridgewater of Louisville. Dropback passer who can step up into the pocket and find targets with pinpoint accuracy. I just hope my Raiders draft him....
