Grijalva Introduces House Immigration Reform Bill

All this talk of government shutdown, defunding Obamacare and going to war with Syria has pushed immigration reform the back burner. Today, Congressman Raul Grijalva announced he was introducing a new immigration-reform proposal. The press release from Grijalva:

Reps. Raúl M. Grijalva and Filemon Vela today introduced the Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America’s Security and Prosperity (CIR ASAP) Act of 2013, a bill closely mirroring the 2009 version introduced by Rep. Solomon Ortiz. Grijalva and Vela co-chair the Congressional Border Caucus.

A side-by-side comparison of the CIR ASAP bill and S. 744 on key issues is available below. A more detailed explanation of the bill is available at http://1.usa.gov/18g3hO9.

“The House discussion on immigration reform hasn’t been an honest debate about good policy, it’s been a one-sided refusal to take the issue seriously,” Grijalva said. “There are millions of American families waiting every day for better laws that will keep them together, provide their children with a better future, and help our economy. The conversation they need Washington to have has been hijacked by a small group that has shown no interest in their welfare. We’re tired of hearing this is a question of triple-layer border fences and militarizing our neighborhoods for our own good. I ask my colleagues whether they’d want their own children to pass teams of armed soldiers on their way to school every day for the next decade. They should consider what they’re doing to our border communities and start negotiating fairly instead of treating this as a military exercise.”

If they pass Amnesty that means many millions of new voters for socialism/democrats

The USA will be worse than California.

The democrats can use all these new voters to grab total power. democrats will use this power to turn the USA into a socialist state

stop Amnesty. don't you all see no other issue matters? if they pass Amnesty then the leftists can win on all the other issues because they then have overwhelming numbers. the media has everyone focused on the Syria distraction, Trayvonn and a million other things. focus. this is for your freedom and your rights

Steve King was right when he said Grijalva ceded his district to Mexico.

It would be much better if Gowdy’s bills get defeated in committee and force unattractive forces like Grivalja and Guiterrez to be the sponsors of immigration bills directly on the house floor.

Grivalja was the first person this year to say Obama should grant executive amnesty to 5 or 10 million illegal alien deadbeat dads and nannies.

Wow — every single pro-amnesty liberal lie and fallacy in one short statement.

>>There are millions of American families waiting every day for better laws that will keep them together, provide their children with a better future, and help our economy. <<

These are NOT Americans. These are illegal invaders who are costing us billions every year. They have no right to be here and should NOT be here. They are almost all unskilled permanent underclass that HURT the economy.

>>The conversation they need Washington to have has been hijacked by a small group that has shown no interest in their welfare.<<

Their welfare is better-served by returning to their home countries. If they have legitimate worry for their physical well-being from there, we have LEGAL means of addressing these.

Other than that, yes I have no interest in the welfare of foreigners who break my laws and steal from me.

>>We’re tired of hearing this is a question of triple-layer border fences and militarizing our neighborhoods for our own good<<

Any country that gives up control of its borders ceases to exist. But for the USA that is the liberal endgame.

>>I ask my colleagues whether they’d want their own children to pass teams of armed soldiers on their way to school every day for the next decade. <<

Whose children daily do this? We have people in Mexico who illegally go back and forth DAILY? If they are legal and frequent border-crossers, they can get FAST which whizzes them across the border — BOTH WAYS — in no time.

>>They should consider what they’re doing to our border communities and start negotiating fairly instead of treating this as a military exercise<<

Ah, the ever-present liberal use of “fair.” It isn’t fair that we have people who are ravaging our border communities, leaving tons of trash and waste (human and otherwise), breaking into houses and businesses and destroying people’s quality of life.

Yes, let us talk about “fair.”

It’s disgusting to see a dim witted clown like Grijalva on the national stage.

Everyone in Tucson knows what he’s like and have nothing but contempt for him. He rode the civil rights wave into county offices back in the 70s, always making stupid statements, always pretending he was just trying to help the poor, poor mestizos assimilate.

He’s outed himself as a hate filled Mexican nationalist since a federal judge gerrymandered a district he could be elected in.

Nothing he says is going to pass any smell test because he doesn’t dare to admit what he really wants: a Mexican majority and the destruction of the hated gringo nation.

Maybe he’s still mad that his mom renamed him Louis to try to fit in back in the 40’s.

This cretin seems to be confused as to which government he is actually working for. I suggest the people who elected him present him with a one-way ticket back to Old Meheeco, since that’s obviously where his true loyalties lie.
