More likely mismanagement of the funds they have. Funny how congress, and growing more frequent, the President create rules and laws that create financial burdens for the private sector and expect them to continue as if nothing happened. If the people running these bases are not smart enough, or creative enough to work within their budgets they need to be replaced.

Turning our military bases into “Gun Free Zones” like our schools provides target rich areas for evil. My father used to be a engineer at the Navy Gun Factory a.k.a. Navy Yard. he would at times take me and my scout troop there for tours. There were navy shore patrols all over the place all wearing 1911 side-arms. But that was in the late 50’s and early 60’s. I also seem to recall that military officers used to have side-arms as part of their uniforms.

IMO there are lots of politicians that belong there. Many retire and leave their stupidity behind and IMO those people should also go somewhere restrictive and have all their new found personal wealth confiscated.
