Today's column came into existence, in part - due to my not being able to find an outline that suited my tastes, on the subject of what Constitutional authority a President has, to insert our military into a conflict. Necessity became the Mothers of Invention or Frank Zappa, at the very least, so I wrote one myself. I was also interested in what irresistible gravitational force compels an Imperial President into launching military action on flimsy premises of 'vital national interest'.
I think with this, I'm changing the diaper on the Syria mess and putting the baby to bed for a good nap, because we need to get back to the rest of the scandals at hand. Actually though, when you dig into what Obama was contemplating, and the implications thereof - Syria was a scandal in the making as well. The abortion of Obama's dog wag is the only such termination I approve of.
Once again, as is quite common with me - I have to apologize somewhat that this is not a snappy little number - which is why I've only previewed it here. It involves a number of themes that I tie together and a number of culprits that I line up for intellectual execution. So, if you don't have a few extra minutes to devote to it, please bookmark & come back to it when you do. It'll keep. It's like an MRE.
Thanks as always, for your patience and loyal readership - or loyal mothership or something like that. RC
