I first learned of this story at Asylum Watch and I wouldn't be telling the truth if I said it surprised me. At this point in the game, nothing our government does surprises me. The sad thing is, this is coming from someone who is supposed to be on our side. That would be Speaker of the House John Boehner. Clearly, he has his own agenda in play, namely keeping his position of power. He seems to that taking a real stand against Obamacare and the rest of the liberal agenda endangers that. Otherwise, why would he stoop to what I consider to be dirty and underhanded tricks? Here are the details.
Fox News - Boehner floated a compromise that would allow members to take a vote on that, but also keep the ObamaCare provision distinct and allow the Senate to carve it out and vote it down, while still sending the budget portion to the White House. What does this mean? I'll let Asylum Watch explain. He does a much better job of this, than do I.
But, the Cowardly Lion, John Boehner, doesnt have the backbone to take on President Obama over ObamaCare. So, like a good Democrat, he tried to fool House Republicans and the public into believing that the majority Republicans were going to pass a Continuing resolution with an amendment to be voted on separately to defund ObamaCare and that would show Harry Reid and Obama how serious the House Republicans were. The slight-of-hand used by Boehner was to get the Republicans to pass a Continuing Resolution under the Self-Executing Rule aka Deem and Pass. This would allow the Senate to throw out any amendments they didnt like and as long as they didnt change the basic bill, they could send it to the President to sign without going back to the House for reconciliation. He really is a coward, isnt he?If you remember, "Deem and Pass" was one of the legislative tricks used to pass Obamacare. It left a bad taste in our mouth's then and it is no better today. It smacks of desperation and underhanded, backroom dealings between the powers that be. I wonder if the idea that American citizens would be paying the consequences for those dealings even crossed their minds? Somehow, I doubt it. Thankfully, conservatives in the House recognized Boehner's compromise for what it was and rejected the plan.
I realize John Boehner has a thankless job. Given the propensity of the media to blame Republicans for everything that goes wrong, I can imagine his trepidation about the upcoming budget battle. I am sure Boehner remembers how he hasn't fared so well in his previous battles with Obama over all things financial. He may have been trying to sidestep this battle, in the hopes that he could recover lost ground at a later day.
The more conservative members of the House also have good memories. They can remember how they have received the short end of the stick in every budget battle they have had with Obama. I am sure many of them attribute that short stick to the lack of leadership from John Boehner. Rightfully or wrongly, he bears the blame for how Obama has managed to push some of his agenda through Congress, with little or no opposition from the Republican leadership.
I can't help but wonder how many more times must we witness John Boehner folding like a damp rag, before someone in the Republican Party realizes we desperately need a change in leadership in the House of Representatives? As it was with the lawmakers in Colorado who decided to force more gun control down the throats of their citizens, it is time John Boehner learned his actions have real consequences.
John Boehner’s job is thankless, because John Boehner is so bad at it.
He is worse than useless, he is useful to the opposition.
There is but one way to beat Obamacare at this point and that is to not fund it.
While they are at it there are a lot of foreign aid funds they could stop also.
I believe Boehner has already announced he will not seek the Speakership again. Nothing worse than a politician that has nothing to lose. He’s going to fold like a Wal-Mart suit on this...
Seems the Democrats become more conservative and Republicans become more liberal when they have nothing to lose. I think that is what we are seeing with McCain now. He’s never going to be President and no longer playing party politics. He’s just being his natural liberal self. Mask is off.
What in the hell is wrong with ohio?
Could it be that Jonnnneyboy just wants peeple to wiike him?
He just wants a widdle luvv?
That’s all there is??
Ohio, you have a lot to answer for!
The majority of the GOP Congressional delegation is really to blame for voting this traitor as their leader.
Boehner really, really needs to step aside.
America is currently on autopilot.
The libs are (badly) mis-managing the country, but our side has thrown responsibility out, and seem to have sold out.
US Businesses have a primary job: BE AMERICAN.
Make a great profit, and work to build up a strong free world (see any sign of that, in the last 10 years?) but really and first, BE AMERICAN.
Every other nation in the world, is busy becoming stronger, and hiring their own people.
America is alone, running toward the back of the pack.
Sending US businesses overseas, and hiring foreigners.
STOP IT.
Hire Americans. In America.
Build up American businesses, and start looking out for Americans for once.
We have sent far too much American businesses out of America.
Bring them back.
Au contraire, SkyPilot.
ObummerCare, nor any other program, can be funded without the HOR voting to fund it. Don’t spread the Dhimm lies,
To paraphrase Dean Wormer in Animal House:
“Tan, drunk and stupid is no way to govern Mr. Speaker”
Obamas interest in an un-provoked US Military invasion of non-enemy Syria has nothing to do with Syria, poison gas, or the children.
Obamas interest in bombing non-enemy Syria has everything to do with creating a long-lasting, controversial, DISTRACTION for Congress in order to keep Congress from defunding Obamacare/Boehnerkare.
Obamas Red Herring for the 9-11 Benghazi Massacre Coverup was Susan Rices phony TV Video story.
Obamas Red Herring for distracting Congress until Obamacare/ Boehnerkare kicks in October 1 was Obamas Crossing HIS personal Red Line distraction speech LAST YEAR.
Con-artist Obama speaks only for Obama, not the US Military, US Federal Government Foreign Policy or America.
Obama has isolated himself, and has primed himself for Impeachment.
IMPEACH OBAMA !
REMEMBER BENGHAZI !
Boehner and McIdiot are hussein’s handmaidens.
My only problem with your post is that we have too many Americans who do not want to work.
Why should anyone work for $7.50 an hour when the Government pays them $11.00 not to work.
First we need to give the Americans here some incentive to work, and that incentive is to cut the entitlements, or at least limit them.
Certainly no one is hard hearted enough to want to see anyone hungry or on the street, but we also are tiring of keeping them off the street by taking their responsibility to work away from them with subsidies.
f he wanted his Wuv from Conservatives it wouldn’t be so bad, but he seems to want it from the liberals.
I live here now. Great house bargain, nice neighborhood, seems removed from the natural and man-made disasters so many other places face.
Politically it's nuts. A democrat is someone who either lives on benefits or wants a high-paying union job. A Republican is someone who wants lots of government contracts to make them wealthy. Everybody will vote for more taxes for the zoo, library, and community college (etc)rather than pay for themselves when they use stuff.
There are a lot of rational people, sure. They don't control the political parties.
JMHO
I think we need to bring back American jobs.
Now.
China’s unemployment rate, is (much) better than ours is now.
Our problem isn’t people who do not want to work.
Our problem is, jobs have been offshored.
Bring US jobs back to America.

Please share your thoughts about his lack of spine and guts!
Ohio needs to look to Colorado for direction.
