Drudge: ‘Why would anyone vote Republican?’
Daily Caller ^ | 09/03/2013 | Caroline May

Matt Drudge, founder and editor of the conservative website the Drudge Report, took to Twitter Tuesday to voice his displeasure with the Republican Party.

Tuesday morning, Drudge tweeted:

Why would anyone vote Republican? Please give reason. Raised taxes; marching us off to war again; approved more NSA snooping. WHO ARE THEY?!

— MATT DRUDGE (@DRUDGE) September 3, 2013

His rhetorical question was preceded by the assertion that there are no longer differences between Republicans and Democrats. “It’s now Authoritarian vs. Libertarian. Since Democrats vs. Republicans has been obliterated, no real difference between parties…” he wrote.

By Tuesday afternoon, with more then 505,800 Drudge readers voting, the poll showed 8.44 percent support granting authority [to intervene in Syria] and 91.56 percent oppose.

Time to light up Congress's phone lines. 202-224-3121.

It’s ALWAYS been Authoritarian vs. Libertarian. That’s what the real struggle is about.

Wow. And it took Matt Drudge how long to come to this conclusion?

As for the latest war, it’s time to light up the lines folks. The congressional offices have it down to a science: the phone calls to each will take you all of a minute. Two senators and one rep, less than 5 minutes total.

Drudge, come to Freepers often? You’re five years late, come catch up.

In all fairness to Drudge....there are still many on FR who think an “R” next to someone’s name means “conservative”...think Fox News is a “conservative” news network...and think Globalism and Internationalism is a “conservative” idea (even though almost all liberals support it)

He’s right, but it’s kind of odd coming from someone who pimped Romney so hard. Romney is the epitome of what Drudge laments the GOP has become.

This is the beginning of a viable third party. Thank you Matt Drudge.

Not the real beginning, of course. Just the one the history books will cite.

Amen! Let's get started before it's too late, and before weasels move in to corrupt it.

My guess is he wanted access in case Romney won.

Already started with the Tea Party, just nobody knew how important the timing would be. I was not on the TP bandwagon for a long time, but I now recognize just how corrupt the GOP is and how desperately needed a viable third party is.

I think a Tea Party group from each state should look into that state’s requirements for formally starting a party, and for formally getting a place on all ballots.

Must their be a petition, filing fees, By-laws, organizational documents, etc?

What are the legal requirements for reporting donations?

Is IRS approval for tax purposes required? Ooops...never mind....NO TEA PARTY FOR YOU!

I agree with you. I just meant from an historical perspective.
