The Turks are jumping on this because the Kurds seemed to have created a semi independent buffer zone near their border. They wouldn’t look too keen about Syria fragmenting into separate states with one for the Alewite (where the Russian naval base is located) and the other for the Kurd.
This whole thing is a huge cluster fork with the head cluster forker running the show.
