LET'S KEEP OUR NOSE OUT OF SYRIA
boblonsberry.com ^ | 08/28/13 | Bob Lonsberry

Syria isn’t our war.

It doesn’t involve us, it isn’t our business, we don’t want any part of it.

Obama and the boys are about to start World War III and the American people are sitting here wondering what in the hell is going on.They show us some video of dead kids on the evening news and all of a sudden the White House spokesman is talking about how we must respond.

We?

When did we sign off on that?

John Kerry talks in his big-boy voice and various murmurings escape from 10 Downing Street and now we’re counting destroyers and submarines and deciding whether we will bombard them for days or weeks.

What in the frig is going on?

In America, the Constitution says that the people, through the most democratically elected portion of the federal government, must declare wars. The Founders figured that if we the people were going to have to supply the blood and the treasure to fight these wars, then we the people ought to be the ones who decide whether or not we go to war.

We castrated that part of the Constitution years ago, and now some numbnut goes off script and says something about a “red line” and to save face people have to die. It’s amateur hour at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and we’re about to make the rubble bounce.

Which is like striking a match at a gasoline spill.

This mother trucker looks like it has the potential to go sideways on us right from the jump.

Here’s how.

First off, we’ve about killed our military. We’ve overextended it for more than a decade and cut its budget while we’ve done so. More missions and fewer soldiers and less spending and we’ve run out of airspeed and altitude. We’ve crashed the mother ship, doing in a decade what the Nazis and the Soviets couldn’t do between them in half a century.

The world’s last remaining superpower is a paper tiger and everybody knows it but us.

And now we’re going to stick our nose in one more Muslim bloodbath.

We got bloodied in Iraq. We got bloodied in Afghanistan. We’ve lost influence in Libya and control in Egypt, and now Obama wants one more slobber knocker to round out his Wreck America Now tour.

China says don’t you dare, Russia says don’t you dare, Iran says don’t you dare, and the White House shill says we must. Somebody comes up with some video for the network news, and it’s out of our hands. We live in a world where one kind of Muslim or one kind of African tribalist is genociding another on a daily basis, when daily death counts are typically in the hundreds, and all of a sudden these particular dead children necessitate the destabilizing of world order.

It’s a tragic heartbreak, but it is the horrifically predictable way of the world. And we’ve got to realize that we can’t make it all better. We’ve got to realize that we can’t let ourselves be manipulated into being cannon fodder for the people in Washington or Riyadh anymore.

As if on cue, we had the convergence of children, nerve gas and plenty of video cameras. Just in time to provide a smoking gun for the long-building desire of the White House to get into the Syrian fight, voila, we’ve got our casus belli.

Even Joe Biden says we must fight.

Let’s take a Louisville Slugger and smash it into that Middle Eastern house of cards and see how it works out. Who attacks Israel, who attacks us, how many American civilians get the jihad treatment, it’s all up in the air.

All we know is that the peace president can taste his second war and that he kind of gets turned on being called the commander in chief. The man who condemned Iraq has escalated Afghanistan and is about to start Syria.

With virtually no support from the American people.

We don’t want this war.

But we’re going to get it.

And we’re going to pay for it.

In more ways than one.

Since it is clearly an unwise move, the list of known unknowns is endless, and Israel will likely face the brunt of the retaliation it’s a definite go.

Should make no difference to the USA. This is a civil war and the American people don’t need to spend lives and money only to be hated regardless of which group of 7th century sand monkeys win.

Tell them to give us a call when the fighting is finished and let us know who won (like it makes any difference).

The entire Middle East is filled with low grade sub-human clans who hate each other and have done so for centuries. A few missiles launched by the Prophet Obunghole will not solve this conflict.

The USA will be hated if we support monkey A or monkey B or no monkeys so lets just save our troops and money.

A cow f@rts in India, should the EPA enforce stricter standards on US citizens? All good liberals think “Of course. They’re overdue for stricter standards.” A person with a rational brain thinks “Huh? What’s that have to do with me” Same rationale here.

Based on the recent past history Obama will drop a few bombs, declare victory and move on.

It is a Syrian civil war. How about we let them figure it out for themselves. When (if) there is an eventual winner, we decide how we want to relate to them. If we don’t like the winners, we take them out then, when they are weak from the civil war. Sure, not very sporting, but too bad. We are BROKE and cannot afford the blood, time, nor treasure to play world cop.

Russia, China and Iran have warned against a US-led attack against Syria. They have pledged to defend Syria with military force. Obama thinks he’s playing poker, that the Russian coalition won’t call his bluff. What he’s really playing is chess, and the Russians are masters at chess.

There’s never a bad time to pray. But right now is an especially good time to do so. Be vigilant and aware. Perhaps this situation will pass without major escalation. Or perhaps the Lord’s timetable is at hand.

We have sown the wind. We will reap the whirlwind.

It’s just a question of when. Right now, it’s looking like sooner rather than later

Vietnam was good for helicopter sales, Bosnia tested the Stealth plastic toy, Iran got slant drilling OK'd for Kuwait, Afghanistan is a fish in a barrel dump for white wasp patriots who might try to rebel some day, Libya was a drive by assasination of ghadaffy to grab his foriegn assets,

and any post that protests the insanity of the criminals in charge of the US government may attract the FBI and get you the Obamacare treatment

If Obama can seize Islamic Terrorist control in Syria, then next he can move into Turkey.

That is the big prize he is after.

No matter what you do for or to a muslim, at the end of the day, you are still the infidel and he will still hate you.

There are at least two factions in Syria; muslims and worse muslims.

I have no great desire to go save people who hate me.

“Since it is clearly an unwise move, the list of known unknowns is endless, and Israel will likely face the brunt of the retaliation it’s a definite go.”

It’s plain stupid. Per the maps being shown on the news there are only four destroyers off the coat of Syria. I don’t see any carriers in the area. There may be a carrier in the Northern part of the Arabian Sea. But, from my Internet searches that’s it. So, wondering if we have assets remaining in Iraq to fly air cover for these destroyers. They appear kinda naked out there by themselves. Sitting ducks waiting for a Syrian air strike it seems to me.
