Imagine that, a convicted felon carrying a gun in Connecticut, even with all those stringent new gun laws. Its almost as if criminals dont obey the laws or something.
Police arrested a 35-year-old New Haven man on gun charges among others after an allegedly unprovoked attack on a 71-year-old man.
Jorge DelaPaz was arrested on charges of assault in the third degree of an elderly person, carrying a dangerous weapon, carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal posession of a pistol and interfering with police.
Police say on Sunday, Aug. 25, the elder New Haven man was eating a hamburger in the Goffe Street Park following a Toni Harp mayoral campaign-sponsored event that afternoon when he was approached by the 35-year-old. Police say DelaPaz told the elder white male that he shouldnt be in his park where young black kids are playing. When the man refused an order from DelaPaz to pick up a football, DelaPaz punched the man multiple times in the face, knocking him to the ground. Police say several witnesses supported the victims account of the unprovoked attack.
Ironically the editor of the newspaper reporting this recently likened Fox News to the KKK. They might want to ask why this crap goes on in their city instead of lashing out at others.
After being detained, police found a Sig Sauger P239 handgun, a set of brass knuckles and a voter registration card in DelaPazs bookbag. DelaPaz gave multiple false names before his identity was determined. Police say DelaPaz is a convicted felon.
How does a convicted felon have a handgun and a voter registration card?
Jorge DelaPaz
Generally speaking - Babyboomers created the whole social mess. Now they are the ones getting old and being targeted.
Chickens. Home. Roost.
Yeah, one cohort caused all the problems. Were TR, Wilson, FDR, Truman, LBJ, Lindsay, Timothy Leary, Saul Alinsky and all that ilk baby boomers?
LOL
Democrats!
I was raised to always address someone of that age (71) as Sir.
Now 71 is not grandpa Moses anymore...but still deserving of respect.
I wonder how thugs like this survive so long. Looks like the odds would catch up to them and someone would put a bullet in them when attacked.
There were always Freaks. Babyboomers made social disorder mainstream.
Almost keeled over from the ugly of this piece of filth. Probably an illegal. Whaddya bet?
I smell Muslim convert.
The style of the beard makes me suspect “Muslim convert”
That’s the first thing that hit me as well. The way his beard is grown but no mustache (most Hispanics I know don’t grow beards) makes him look exactly like one of those ugly Muzzie crazies in the oft-posted pics. Maybe he did some jail time and was converted there.
Gee. Maybe we should have given them George Zimmerman, then they wouldn’t be so angry! Isn’t it better to sacrifice the life of one innocent man than to risk living in fear of violent urban youth?
Now, let me go crawl back under my bed and live in fear... /sarc
That’s a broad brush you are painting with.
The story says he’s already a convicted felon, so he’s done both jail and prison time, I imagine.
And local New Haven news, WTNH, has yet to address this story. Nothing on the Hartford news channel either.
Finally found the story buried at the New Haven Register (local news rag)
Bets on local coverage if race roles were reversed?
I guess attacks by street thugs are now so common, no one cares & it in’t news.
Looks like one of those “white Hispanics” to me. Calling Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.......oh....the victim was white? Never mind.
A chainsaw makes a really dangerous weapon, but it doesn’t have much range to go up against a gun.
In this case, the victim was not a boomer. I’m the same age and he and I are War Babies, born before the boomers.
Register to vote as A Democrat?
Governor Scott damn sure tried to give them George Zimmerman.
