They want to make sure that the muggers know where you’re riding. That’s why it’s a straight line.

Can’t throw stones as Pittsburgh built the most expensive tunnel on earth (per linear foot) to take the light rail under the Allegheny River for stops at Heinz Field and the casino.

Public financing used to build great things that we actually used today: the Hoover Damn, TVA, the Verazano Brige, etc. Now, they build useless crap like light rail or bus lines that no one will ever use.

What does the streetcar do that a bus can't? If you have enough traffic where one driver can handle multiple coaches of people, then maybe a light rail system is useful, but what does a single car streetcar do for the extra capital expense that a bus can't? Labor's the same and capital costs to put in the rails are higher. Maybe if it is electric that could be cheaper, but you can use electric buses like Dayton, Ohio has in the city (diesels go to the suburbs).

the ‘govt project’ is progressives one-trick-pony for ‘building the economy’
well, besides simply printing money
your state can be fiscally responsible... but as long as the fed can steal money from one state and pour it into another, your state is being had.
as a FL resident, my state loses money as people send it to the fed... since FL’s main income comes from sales tax. that which is sent to the fedgov cannot be spent in-state

I'm told that on a per-foot basis, yes.
To: Mr. K
Buy a handful of these , save $138 million and actually move people ... no new infrastructure necessary ... has a 40+ year record of safe travel ... existing technology ... add to or change routes as needed
