I had a 1968 Charger like the one Steve McQueen was chasing in that famous chase scene in Bullitt. I still cringe when I watch it, at the end of the chase when the Charger crashes in to the gas station and explodes :(

but no seatbelts, and NO safety glass yet, that wasn’t until late 40s I believe- ouch!

Don't forget the solid steering column aimed at your heart with a steering wheel likely to collapse if you happen to try to use it to brace yourself.

had a 32 high boy street rod - squirrely on the brakes (no portioning vale - got it sideways when some gramps pulled in front of me - fortunately it didnt flip - the rumble seat was a blast - no seatbelts and no highway - thats for sure - it was much akin to a go cart......did you know Brokkville is pressing new steel? - even in your 29

“Wreck” might be to strong of a word, on a couple of them little rubbing compound and some elbow grease and they will be good as new.

I occasionally helped my buddy do a ground-up restoration of his 1928 Model A Ford Fordor with Briggs body. He did not install seat belts, but he made some other concessions for safety. The original thin steel brake drums flexed and therefore were so ineffective and scary that he replaced them with rigid cast iron drums.

I think my husband has good brakes, but he’s installing a new radiator — double thickness. The original radiatior was always overheating at the most inopportune times.

Ours is a ‘29 4dr steel back sedan — a rare one.

She looks like Sarah Palin’s Daughter Piper.

I still remember her licking her hand and smoothing down Trig’s hair at the Convention.
