The benefit of primary challenges and not listening to the whining of the Olympia Snowe's of the world: incumbents' conservative spines are stiffened up! Orrin Hatch voted in lock-step with Mike Lee for two years to get reelected. Mitch McConnell is aligning himself with Rand Paul. Lindsey Graham will likely try to get Tim Scott's endorsement. And John Cornyn has been sticking by Ted Cruz.

And now Mike Enzi is trying to keep his seat by joining the anti-Obamacare parade.

If only he'd done that while he was ranking member of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions committee, we might not have to worry about it. But he was a Ted Kennedy and then a Tom Harkin buddy. Maybe if he'd exercised some influence, challenged some unanimous consent requests in committee, put pressure on Olympia Snowe to NOT vote with the democrats to get the bill to the floor, the floor fight might have been delayed till 2010, and election year. But no, he didn't.

And please don't get on me about Liz Cheney. I'm just happy Enzi's being challenged!

GOP incumbents have been getting away with this crap for far too long. A primary bloodbath is overdue.

Not sure whether or not I like Liz Cheney, but if she has forced Enzi into opposing Obamacare she isn’t all bad.

My problem is with her sister Mary, who is homosexual and is expecting a turkey baster baby.

How does Liz stand on the sanctity of marriage which no longer exists.

I’ll take a few rocks for ya and go so far as to say that I hope Liz Cheney gets elected. She’s smart, experienced, and if she was good enough for Fred Thompson, that says a lot. Her family has lived in Wyoming since the 1850s and I think her ideas will resonate with Wyoming farmers and ranchers.

Cheney is for gay marriage, and has been for a long time. She grew up and graduated High School in DC, went to college in Colorado and Chicago I think, and has worked in the establishment world in DC helping constrict out wonderful foreign policy.

She has no “Wyoming”. She does not deserve to be a senator from that state. Is there no end to the legacy children in both parties, being handed plum jobs because of their name?
her resume is filled with them and now she wants a senate seat.

This is exactly what McCain and Hillary did. Sought out states they have nearly no ties to simply to grab an elective office.

Enzi has never been in favor of Obamacare and would no doubt have supported the attempt to defund it, Cheney or no Cheney.

Screw ‘em both. I’ll save my money for races where REAL conservatives are running.

“I’m running because I know as a mother ... whose kids and husband reside in another state, but I couldn't win there, so I established residence in WY with Daddy's name, because I can't use my married name because it has no political influence ...

I do like primary challenges too, to keep them honest. But comparing both their records, one is a local, got an MBA, served in the Wyoming ANG, has been successful in businesses, and has won election to progressively higher offices starting at the mayoral level.

The challenger Liz grew up back east, went to law school, wrote her big school paper on presidential war powers (daddy’s field) and has walked into a series of jobs based upon connections. And now she wants elected office, so she *starts off* as a US Senator.

And make no mistake, she ain’t TEA. She’s from the wing of the Party that hates Sarah and TEA.
