Yes, this article is inaccurate and probably a fake. I too have taught black inner city schools.
You can tell its fake when it says there are no differences or cliques among black students. Just a total lie.
It is mostly interesting in that it exposes the racists on this site.Yeah, that’s a winning political strategy. Morons.
Having any interest in anything is called “acting white.”
I went to a school that was 90% black in the 60’s (Chicago) ... and blacks did NOT act this way... The school was on the South Side - near the University of Chicago and kids didn’t have much money - but they acted normal.
I find it hard to believe black students are this bad... seems more like a teacher who has given up control of his class...
Gangsta Culture has been accepted as normal Black Culture and all the results are crackas fault.
When I see a newbie teacher, especially those "Teach for America" lib-babies, it is utterly predictable to see them first amazed at the low reading levels, the utter lack of effort and the disrespect, then frustrated at the futility of their efforts to get the students to want to learn anything that will help them advance themselves, and then finally just going with the flow. The cynicism comes after multiple years of having the same thing happen over and over again. And then getting screwed for having tried so hard to succeed with the Myth of Sisyphus and having not succeeded with your grade statistics (if they be at all honest and not just inflated).
You are the one reprimanded, you are one called a "bad" teacher, you are the one vilified in the media. Nothing happens to these students, and they live happily ever-after on your hard-earned dime. They don't aspire to more.
Teachers who try to raise the standards will not get backed by the admin and they will be pressured to lower them back.

Racism is a characteristic of human beings.
If you do not believe me, just look at prisons, where everything is stripped away, and only one thing remains - racism.
You either group with yours, or you will likely die.
It is civilization itself that provides us the luxury of attempting to move past that, but there are a great many people who refuse to be civilized, and guess what, those people are pretty damned racist aren’t they?
I lived 14 years in the heart of New Orleans, and I’ll tell you what, everything this person mentioned in this essay is clearly visible in not only black children, but black adults as well.
They seem to be a people set on a course for self destruction for a great number of reasons, which I will not list, because I do not want to be called a racist, not that it matters anyway.
The truth is not racist, the truth is simply the truth, and unless blacks face the truth as a whole, they are not going to make it in the long run.
People don’t use the phrasing acting white, Oreo or half breed in the ghetto now. Anyone claiming that is lying. Those attitudes may exist but the slang is different. Stories like this is are obviously fake because they reflect slang from a different generation. ie are inventions of bitter old racists.
If I had to bet, I’d bet that author is a white supremacist who spent little or no time actually teaching in an urban school.

Yup. Try handing in actual authentic grades you didn’t significantly curve. The grades the students actually earned despite you killing yourself teaching, or trying to teach over the din. The grades which reflect disrupted lessons, not doing any homework, not studying for tests or turning in projects, despite your warnings, personal counseling sessions, calling home, etc. Your gradebook will be mostly white, devoid of any checkmarks or numbers. And it will be YOU with a disciplinary letter to YOUR file, or worse.

And also, again, the article is a fraud. You’d be surprised how many black high scholl students prefer learning Beethoven to Lil Wayne.
As I told you, human beings are racist. I am indeed a human being. If you were to ask me Chris, do you prefer the company of Caucasians, of which you are one, I would tell you yes. I am not a liar.

The world is going to Hell, and there isn't a damn thing you or I can do about it. It is going to arrive at its destination. I am always going to be who I am regardless of where the world is going.

I have already moved as far away from New Orleans as I possibly can, and I will never return there for any reason. Where I am now, there is clean air, horses, trees, and much, much less crime.
If you want to go live in New Orleans to prove that you are not a racist, go knock yourself out. It would be smart of you to pack heat if you choose to do so, and it isn't white people that you will have to look out for.

Do you know how many black people I saw or heard listening to Beethoven in New Orleans in the 14 years that I lived there?

Yep. It is possible that the original article was written by a burned out, beaten down urban school teacher.
But I don't think so. The article is almost certainly a fake. Too much of it is just way, way over the top. It almost sounds like a script from a minstrel show.
Someone, or maybe a group of people, is trying to pull a fast one on the rest of us.
I agree that this article by “unknown” is mostly crap. The grammar and writing style sounds like it was written by an average joe who was just opining about his own general observances about the differences between the races....as he sees them in his world. Even though he presents himself as a teacher....to add weight, and shock value to the story, I’m not sure I buy that this writer is an educator. It just smells funny to me.
we can all write a similar essay with our own anecdotal examples, and steer the reader towards our intended conclusion.
I don’t disagree; however, that our education system is certainly on life-support. Our liberal politicians have acquiesced to squeaky, racial agitators in the interest of political correctness, and votes...to the detriment of current society and our future. Nobody wins.

Where are you from...what state?
Sad thing is blacks are ahead of whites, but many whites are headed down the same path. LBJ’s programs went largely to blacks in the beginning; now every race is on that gravy train. Morals in sharp decline among most races, many younger whites don’t value love, romance- simply seeking sex as the author attributes to blacks. Blacks had the lead in the race to destruction, but whites and others are following, beginning to catch up.
The only exposure I ever had to any inner city schools was my trip to the bank I took twice a week for the small company I once worked for.
I used the Boston MBTA trolley and boarded at about the same time the schools were getting out and the high school kids were headed home.
In the back of the trolley were all the black kids going insane, everyone screaming, yelling and just going nuts. I used to see kids making out, fighting, throwing stuff and so on. None of them - and I mean none of them carried any books. None read.
At the front of the trolley were all the Asian kids. All of them had backpacks which were bulging with what I will assume were books. They would study, quiz each other or be reading a book. On occasion you would see two of them talking quietly. But there was mostly a focus on school work.
I would stand in the center of the trolley which was the dividing line between the two groups and just marvel at the difference. It really was heart breaking to see the black students as you knew what was coming down the pike for them. It bothered me deeply and still does.

I sure did. And I am going to be honest about my experience, no matter what anyone calls me (and I have been demonized for warning people about getting invoked to help blacks), because the person I JUST MIGHT help, is the stupid little white suburban do- good girl, who is about to devote her life to a fairy tale of racial harmony- that she can not actually impact.
