Exclusive: White House, GOP Leadership Ignore Facts to Attack Steve King

President Barack Obama’s White House Press Secretary Jay Carney joined House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Speaker John Boehner in making an inaccurate attack on Rep. Steve King (R-IA) over comments he made about efforts to grant amnesty to illegal aliens who entered America illegally while they were still minors. In an interview with NewsMax published last week, King had pointed out that some minor illegal aliens are good people, but many are criminals too.

“Some of them are valedictorians — and their parents brought them in,” King said in that Newsmax interview. “It wasn't their fault. It's true in some cases, but they aren't all valedictorians. They weren't all brought in by their parents.”

"For everyone who's a valedictorian, there's another 100 out there who weigh 130 pounds — and they’ve got calves the size of cantaloupes because they're hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert,” King added in the Newsmax interview. “Those people would be legalized with the same act."

King told Breitbart News on Wednesday afternoon in response to the attacks from the establishment that he thinks this is a sign conservatives fighting against amnesty for illegal aliens are winning politically. “You know when people attack you—in this business, when you’re in this business, you know that when people attack you, and they call you names, they’re diverting from the topic matter,”

“I’ve never seen such lack of restraint on the part of the team of people that have been elected to lead us,” King said in his interview with Breitbart, referencing Boehner’s and Cantor’s remarks. “The only thing that is logical is that they are seeing their dream of a component of amnesty slip away.”

KEYWORDS:
Boehner and Cantor and company wanted to use the DREAM act provisions as a camel's nose in the tent: the means to get the whole damn thing.

King threw a very big wrench into their works and destroyed their talking points of compassion, etc.

The August recess is upon us. And my guess is that there will be few town halls, switchboards will be shutdown, email boxes will be mysteriously full and offices will be shut down...all so that representatives only hear from Amnest proponents.

Nevertheless, hound your congressmen and senators while they are on recess. Give them all the hell they yearn to give us!!

camel's nose in the tent

That is EXACTLY the strategy, and there's absolutely no reason why anything to do with any illegal, kid or not, can't wait until access to the country is under total control: Fence, coasts, ports, airports, visas, employer check in place.

That could be done in 2 years and those kids aren't going anyplace important in that time.

All it takes is honesty and just doing it.

King should respond with an amendment proposal that allows Valedictorians to stay legally. The left and GOPe always use that unlikely anecdote to sell the Dream act crap. ‘A kid can be valedictorian and still live in the shadows’. Well, in a class of 300 there is one valedictorian, but hundred who aren’t. Let’s look at the whole picture when making policy.

No, he shouldn’t.

All that would result is that liberals who run the schools would then start designating multiple valedictorians in ridiculous categories until as many illegals as possible are given a pass.

Just tell Boehner and Cantor to go pound sand. US citizens are suffering. Until they get relief, until Obama enforces the laws already on the books, illegals go to the back of the line; they get no special passes.

Sounds like the obama team is ginning up a phony “pretend” scandal.

Wouldn’t it be swell if the Republican “leadership” attacked the DIMS with the same vigor that they bring to bear on members of their own party?

Throw a rock over the fence and the pig that squeals the loudest is the one that got hit.

Sounds like King’s ‘rock’ ricochetted and hit several squealers.

why does being a valedictorian excuse a criminal act, even if the child was part of the criminal enterprise brought about by his parents entering the country illegally? once they let the kids stay, the MSM along with the demoncrats will howl: how can you be so heartless and send the illegal parents home, leaving the children here alone without their parents, being left as if they were orphans?

I think it would be interesting if somebody were to actually try to run the numbers on this.

How many children in this group become valedictorian as compared to criminals? I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if the ratio weren’t 100:1 or more.

Hispanic and Caribbean students are below average students.

If you go to an urban highschool in Miami, Houston or LA you would be able to top the class easily.

Look at Rubio and the Castro twins. These are the smartest Hispanics they can come up with.

Rachel Jeantel would be the median of students from these backgrounds.

She is smarter than most youth from Haiti and would probably be average for an illegal hispanic youth.
