Obama Calls for Calm, "Are we Doing All We Can to Stem the Tide of Gun Violence?"

The death of Trayvon Martin was a tragedy. Not just for his family, or for any one community, but for America, Obama said in a statement Sunday. I know this case has elicited strong passions. And in the wake of the verdict, I know those passions may be running even higher. But we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken. I now ask every American to respect the call for calm reflection from two parents who lost their young son.
And as we do, we should ask ourselves if were doing all we can to widen the circle of compassion and understanding in our own communities. We should ask ourselves if were doing all we can to stem the tide of gun violence that claims too many lives across this country on a daily basis. We should ask ourselves, as individuals and as a society, how we can prevent future tragedies like this. As citizens, thats a job for all of us. Thats the way to honor Trayvon Martin, the statement said.
Obama famously weighed in on Martins shooting last year when he said, if I had a son, hed look like Trayvon.

Let's all widen our "circle" of cynicism as The Dictator stirs the guano and wink-winks as he "calls for calm," ask that Tray-Tray be "honored," and blames guns instead of thugs.
Strangely, "Chicago" is not mentioned for its gun-violence, nor its hundreds and thousands of victims of murder singled out for such an honorarium.

Dunno Odumbo...why don’t we outlaw violent video games or gangsta rap that corrupt our innocent black youth?

Exactly. I was talking to a friend of mine in Chicago over the weekend after the verdict came down. She said, “I don’t understand why there is such a fuss over Trayvon Martin. People get shot and killed every day in Chicago. Every day.”
She’s a moderate Dem.

Are we doing all we can to stem the tide of theft, riots and looting, so
the public does not need to shoot thieves, rioters and looters?

Only in Liberal Land could the same people who are screaming about too many guns and gun violence speak in the same breath about killing someone because the outcome was percieved on their part as “unfair”.

why dont we make the likelihood of future generatins ruderless usually fatherless youth a BIT MORE RARE,,by encouraging RESPONSIBILITY!??
would that be TOO MUCH to ask Mr President?
OH REALLY???

In this case, a gun did exactly as it was designed to do. It stopped a murderous assault from a physically superior attacker. The weaker man used a gun to defend his own life by putting an end to the assault (while he still could).
Guns aren’t “violent”. People are. The whole concept of “gun violence” is a fallacy, and our POTUS shouldn’t be promoting incendiary untruths.

Those “every day” killings don’t advance the Marxist agenda like a “whitey” killing a black person.
Of course, a “moderate Dem” wouldn’t see anything nefarious in the leftist agenda, after all, they’re just trying to help people.

"how we can prevent future tragedies like this"I have an idea on that: NO MORE OBAMAPHONES, NO MORE EBT's, NO MORE SECTION 8 HOUSING.....let those parasites take responsibility for themselves and their "offspring", or die of starvation....the CHOICE is THEIRS!

If terrible parents like Trayvon's mom (who was so indifferent to her failure that she sent him to live with Daddy) and Trayvon's dad (who was so indifferent that he spent the evening with his girlfriend instead of with his troubled and suspended son) would get married, stay married, and spend more time with their kids, we could cut gun violence. If irresponsible parents would take the time to teach their kids not to initiate fist violence and concrete violence, there would be far less need for gun violence. Until these self-centered losers start parenting their children and teaching respect for others and for the rule of law though, I'm all in favor of gun violence as an equalizer. How would a short pudgy Hispanic have a chance of survival when cold-cocked by a murderous football player if he wasn't armed?

I've read that more than 11,000 of "Obama's sons" have met their maker as a result of gun violence since Trayvon Martin, mostly at the hands of other "Obama's sons", he needs to ask himself exactly who that rhetorical "we" is, and what they should do about it.
(Of course he knows. He just won't say it.)
