What is afoot here is not that anyone--Right or Left cares about a 27 year old ethnic slur against anyone. What is afoot is a tactical gambit--a woman being pilloried, who predictably falls all over herself magnifying her past "sin" into something monumental. The object, of course, is to further intimidate other people into walking on eggshells, as it were, so as not to risk offending those who are trying to enforce a new conformity of thought on the public.

This is another example of the same gambit that worked so well for the Left in bringing down Trent Lott--the former Republican Senate Leader--(see Trent Lott Affair).

To the Left, the early 21st Century is seen as their end game--the final destruction of the traditional free America that they have been undermining for the past two generations or more. This is but one more example of what may be characterized as a compulsion for uniformity--the same compulsion that drove Soviet Russia & Nazi Germany in a pathological direction.
