Obama tells Africans that contaminated water is a smaller problem than global warming

While speaking in Johannesburg, South Africa, President Obama said that global warming was “the biggest challenge we have environmentally” and that it was worse than “dirty water, dirty air.”

However, according to the World Health Organization, while global warming kills 140,000 people each year, air pollution kills 3 million people per year.

According to UNESCO, each year, contaminated water causes 4 billion cases of diarrhea, 120,000 cases of cholera, 300 million cases of malaria, 12 million cases of typhoid, 6 million cases of trachoma, 200 million cases of schistosomiesis, and more than 1 billion incidents of intestinal parasites.

You know what’s worse than global warming? How about living your entire life without ever having access to a toilet?

The World Health Organization says that dirty water is “the leading cause of disease and death around the world.”

That Obama would downplay these problems shows how scientifically illiterate he is.

That he would do so while giving a speech in Africa, which has the highest rate of water borne illness of any continent, shows how thoughtless and insensitive he is.

At 1 hour 10 min and 25 seconds Obama says (end of video)

Ultimately, if you think about all the youth that everybody has mentioned here in Africa, if everybody is raising living standards to the point where everybody has got a car and everybody has got air conditioning, and everybody has got a big house, well, the planet will boil over — unless we find new ways of producing energy.

Does he care about his daughters as daughters or as props? I ask because as a parent, I would never be able support what Obama has inflicted on the American people. How are a parent could anyone unless they were communist first, parent second.

However, according to the World Health Organization, while global warming kills 140,000 people each year

Exactly how are these deaths "caused by global warming"?

Maybe running a hose from the Potomac River to the White House to supply the drinking water for Obama and his family would raise the level of understanding of the importance for clean drinking water.

To have any representative of our nation go to a less fortunate continent/country and tell them that the very basics of life are unimportant as compared to the “holy grail” of global warming and climate control is beyond the pale. I am so embarrassed and ashamed of my country’s leadership at this moment.

A Bishop from Ghana came to our church some years back. One thing he told us sticks in my mind, “The water in your toilets are cleaner than the water from our taps.”

I really hope the Africans tell this pompous idiot to buzz off.
