What we have today is chaos We all wish we didnt have this problem but leaving it the way it is is amnesty.
We arent alone in this effort. Conservative leaders in both the House and the Senate have stood up, one by one, to show their support. Just last week, Senators Corker and Hoeven introduced an amendment to bolster security on the border which we expect to pass this evening. |
Dear Rob:
Sure: let's allow 15-20 million poor, unskilled and frequently, functionally illiterate people into a country for which they have no attachment, save the opportunity to obtain unearned social welfare benefits.
And let's do that via a piece of legislation that no one has read, that fails to provide anything approaching adequate border security, and, as a real "kicker": that will add billions of dollars to the already-exploding costs of ObamaCare.
Oh, and let's proclaim "amnesty" at a time when native American workers are still being laid off by corporations, even while millions of others have already exhausted their benefits and their savings, and are now seeking disability claims in record numbers.
This will make our economy "more competitive"?
Tell me, please: is the unemployment rate too low for you? Are too many Americans paying income taxes and contributing to Social Security and Medicare at the moment?
Honestly, now: do you really think we're this stupid?
The current immigration bill as proposed would help a few entities, though: Big Government, Big Business, Big Labor... and the Democrat Party.
Good luck with that. As the late Samuel Goldwyn (an immigrant, himself) once said: "Include me out".
Here's a real conservative plan:
1. Seal the borders, using 12-foot barbed wire fences with guards and automatic weapons.
2. Deport any and all illegals who have committed crimes while in America, including Class B and C misdemeanor offenses.
3. Repeal the 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act that created preferences for families instead of countries of origin.
4. Then, and only then: create a true pathway for those who want to earn their way as American citizens. Just like my great-grandparents did. Those who are truly willing to accept the rights and responsibilities of American citizenship deserve better than to be pawns in a Federal government/corporatist power play for the benefit of Washington, DC lobbyists.
Until then, get lost.

I received this email today from "Friends of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce" in support of the Senate's Immigration Bill (S.744).
Attached is the email and my response.
You’re response is great, and what you listed is the proper solution.
Perfect! Great points, all.
FYI: If I receive a response, I will be happy to post it here.
Here's their phone number, FWIW...
U.S. Chamber of Commerce Main Number: 202-659-6000 Customer Service: 1-800-638-6582
I noticed their tagline is "Standing up for American Enterprise".....the American people...not so much :(
The truth is that it is not the illegal alien, but the American worker who today stands "in the shadows".
Americans are the ones who are subject to job insecurity, high taxes, unsupportable government programs, and initiative-stifling bureaucracies... not to mention politically-correct rules in the workplace that threaten even the slightest whiff of independent thought and judgment.
Anyone a member of any Chamber of Commerce needs to quit...doing business with any local Chamber of Commerce member needs to stop....yes your local Chamber of Commerce is linked to the US Chamber of Commerce....they could not use the name otherwise
Let all know not to do business w a Member of any C of C
