Most Jews vote Democratic, against their material interest, partly because theyre worried about evangelicals establishing a Christian nation, but also because of a history lesson passed on from parents to children: Franklin Roosevelt purportedly stood up for Jews against reactionary interests. Barack Obamas anti-Israel position has shaken some of that support, and if the story told in Rafael Medoffs FDR and the Holocaust: A Breach of Faith (David S. Wyman Institute, 2013) gets out, Democrats will receive fewer legacy votes.
Medoff details Roosevelts disparaging remarks about Jews and includes previously unpublished interviews with Jewish leaders who say Roosevelt hoodwinked them and didnt lift a finger to help Jewish refugees from Hitler. Had the United States allowed in escapees instead of sending them back to Europe, or had FDR pressured Great Britain to allow refugees to settle in what is now Israel, many lives could have been saved. Even as late as 1944, U.S. action could have helped the 400,000 Jews of Hungary, most of whom then died at Auschwitz.

“....partly because theyre worried about evangelicals establishing a Christian nation....”
.
But they’re not worried about their fellow muslim democrats establishing a sharia nation?
There is something BASICALLY screwed up in their thinking.
And if the Hungarian Jewish “leadership” hadn’t sold out its own people - after having been warned by Rudi Vrba after his heroic escape from Auschwitz - instead they got their own families to safety and let everyone else be exterminated - the Jews of Hungary, if informed, could have resisted.
If “Jewish leadership” won’t save their own brethren, how can more be expected or demanded from anti-Semitic politicians?
