Israel PM Netanyahu: US, France, UK Allowed The Holocaust

Jerusalem, Israel --- June 15, 2013 … Part of the following was communicated by the Israel Prime Minister's Office to the Israel News Agency.
Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, made the following remarks on Thursday at the dedication ceremony for the permanent pavilion at Block 27 at Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp.
"The leaders of the Allies (UK, US, France) knew about the Holocaust in real time. They understood exactly what was happening in the death camps. They were asked to act, they could have acted, and they did not. To we Jews the lesson is clear. We must not be complacent in the face of threats of annihilation. We must not bury our heads in the sand or allow others to do the work for us.
From here, the place that attests to the desire to destroy us, I, the Prime Minister of Israel, the state of the Jewish People, say to all the nations of the world: The State of Israel will do whatever is necessary to prevent another holocaust."
Netanyahu made the comments as other Israeli government ministers, Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage Bogdan Zdrojewski, Director of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum Piotr Cywinski, Chairman of the Yad Vashem Directorate and exhibition curator Avner Shalev, Chairman of the Yad Vashem Council Rabbi Israel Meir Lau and Holocaust survivors looked on.
A definition of "Holocaust Shoah" is written on the wall of the exhibition foyer. As the visitor leaves the entrance, and enters this hallway in Auschwitz-Birkenau, the senses are suffused with the words and melody of prayer - a Jewish and universal expression of the human spirit. Upon entering the adjoining space, visitors are engulfed in an enveloping 360-degree cinematic montage of original footage of Jewish life between the two world wars. Following this sweeping panorama, visitors are confronted with the central tenets of Nazi German racist ideology, the main motivation behind the Germans' imperative of annihilating the Jewish people.
Netanyahu stated that the "so-called" Iranian presidential election will "change nothing" in the Islamic republic's quest for nuclear weapons and that the regime will continue to pursue a bomb aimed at destroying Israel.
"This is a regime that is building nuclear weapons with the expressed purpose to annihilate Israel's 6 million Jews," Netanyahu said, alluding to the number of Jews killed by the Nazis during World War II. "We will not allow this to happen. We will never allow another Holocaust."

It was a bit off topic, but I nearly said in my earlier post that that, unlike the French, many Poles did plenty to help the Jews, even though they were under the hammer of both Hitler and Stalin.
Typically, the left continues to blame the Pope and the Poles for the Holocaust, although they both did what they could to help the Jews, but they never mention the culpability of FDR. Sure, some of the worst death camps were in Poland, but that was because the Nazis found it convenient to put them there. They killed millions of Poles in the camps, as well as Jews.

The cheering quieted, but only reluctantly, when the United States entered the war in December of 1941. Then, out of sight of the world, Germany’s eugenic warriors operated extermination centers. Eventually, Germany’s eugenic madness led to the Holocaust, the destruction of the Gypsies, the rape of Poland and the decimation of all Europe.
But none of America’s far-reaching scientific racism would have risen above ignorant rants without the backing of corporate philanthropic largess.

The US / UK could have bombed / sabotaged the railroad tracks, all support systems leading to the camps, assassinated the camp commanders. There was much that could have been done. But FDR and his crew did not give a sh*t about the Jews. One of, if not the worst chapter of American history.

He is mostly right, but he makes it sound like they knew the extent of it from the time it started and we could have had boots on the ground any time we wanted.

He’s wrong. The leaders of the Allies ‘heard’ 2nd and 3rd hand that atrocities were said to be occurring in special Nazi detainment camps. FDR was not going to launch a military strike against a major power based on hearsay.
Even the villagers around the concentration camps were not fully aware of the genocide that was taking place. Many commented in interviews that they noticed acrid smells in the air coming from the camps but they had no firsthand information of what was taking place.
We can bet that the Nazis did not disclose what they were doing, we know from the historical record that when the Nazis were questioned through diplomatic channels that they denied the allegations. So how is it that anyone ‘knew’ except for third party reports and rumors?
There was an undercurrent in the USA at the time of anti-semitism but there was never tolerance of any kind among America’s greatest generation for the diabolical extermination of fellow human beings. Bibi should be ashamed of his implicating good people in something so horrific.
Bibi should not have said the Allied Leaders ‘knew’, he should have said they ‘heard about’ or were ‘warned’ or ‘told’, and could not under the circumstances do much. His message is that Israel cannot count on the US Cavalry to ride to the rescue or any such fantasy rescue. In much the same way that American citizens do not allow themselves to think the local police will save them from local attack and therefore take up arms to defend themselves, the Israeli population must not be lulled into thinking that some NATO nuclear force or US anti-missile shield will save them from a nuclear missile attack from Iran. Bibi was correct on this, wrong on implicating good Americans in the Holocaust.

We didn’t have the bombing assets to spread all over and mounting missions deep into enemy lines to “assassinate[d] [the] camp leaders”? Deep penetration sabotage missions?
When people are fighting for survival, and fighting globally against the world’s most powerful militaries, they can’t do everything, and the things that you describe are more difficult than in the movies, how many troops has Israel sent to Sudan?

I’m not taking any of the blame off the Nazi’s but Bibi should look more at the Jewish population of Europe for going like lambs to the slaughter and not fighting back than casting aspersions at the allies who were dying every day to stop the Nazi war machine.

Bombing strikes were conducted by men who were shot all to Hell and back. Ever watch ‘Twelve O’Clock High’ with Gregory Peck? It’s still watched in the War College for lessons in leadership.
Every bombing mission was calculated based on reconnaissance photos for the purpose of taking out the Nazi war machine, not for bombing tracks of detainment camps based on allegations of atrocities.
Interviews were conducted of detention camps and the Nazis put on a show to show how well those detained were treated. There was no direct evidence of the atrocities that were occurring.
A large percentage of the brave American men that flew in those critical bombing missions were shot dead or died as their bombers crashed. Given a target as a German munitions factory versus train tracks leading to a detainment camp where alleged things were happening, and given the high probability that those flying in the mission would never return alive, the choice was clear.
The probability of being shot dead or dying in a crash was so high that many flight crews requested transfer. The strategic bombing effort nearly failed until the leadership and the men flying accepted that death was likely. That persons like Netanyahu would not honor the American war effort and all those that died in battling the Nazis is an egregious slander to true heroes.
Netanyahu shows himself to be a puny little man who has not one iota of the courage that American soldiers, sailors and marines expressed during WWII.

That was an incredibly strong statement for his people. The warning should be headed. On the playing board, both the east and the west are fair game.
