Recently, although he failed to return a Marine guard’s salute, Barack Obama later approached the Marine and “shook hands” with him had a brief conversation with him. The follow up “handshake” part of the story was not reported and many on the Right mistakenly howled at the “insult.”

This brief and otherwise meaningless “gotcha” moment allowed a half-witted liberal blogger named Charles Johnson to gloat and laugh at conservatives who had jumped on the story. Score one for the Left. Nevertheless, the genuine insults Obama heaps on veterans each day far out-number this small minded “victory” in the Left’s war to smother the truth about how veterans are really treated by Obama.

It is even worse than most people realize.

The furloughs due to Sequestration are going to almost exclusively hit the DoD the hardest.

Most Federal agencies have been able to avoid them, but because the Sequestration ax fell hardest on the military (50% of all cuts despite being 17% of the budget), the DoD will cut the salaries of 650,000 employees by 20%.

44% of DoD civilians are veterans themselves.

“Forty-four percent of them are veterans,” Carter told the House Armed Services Committee during a hearing on the potential effect of sequestration on the military. ”Very soon we’re going to have to furlough the great majority of them.”

This furlough will include disabled veterans and even Purple Heart recipients who work for the DoD.

What makes all of this obscene is that the fat, lazy Feds at the Dept of Education or HUD avoid furloughs altogether.

You want even more bad news? Hagel has exempted 500 Sexual Assault Prevention workers from the 20% pay cut and furlough. These are PC priestesses and preachers who herd our military as a captive audience into auditoriums and tell combat veterans what sexual assault scum bags they all really are.

To shake a marines hand instead of salute is a disregard for the institution and structure that the Marine is risking his life for. It is extreemly disrespectful. Perhaps hard for a non vetran to understand.

If I am willing to risk my life for military service, the Commander in Chief I protect should show as much respect for the rules of his office as I am.

Or is military protocal only valid for peons? Because that is what a handshake says, instead of a salute.
