Was honored and inspired by the community of Republic, WA today. Todd and I travelled to this incredibly beautiful northwest community to honor the Class of 2013 as they received their diplomas and headed out into the real world. Republic is a special place it might be small, but it is big on the values that built this great country. Republic exemplifies what makes America great and it was an honor to thank them for it. To the Tigers of 2013 thank you again for inviting me and inspiring me. Always remember your roots and never forget that kids from small schools can do big things. Our republics future is up to you!
- Sarah Palin
Yes, earlier separate threads. The featured young man invited her and she accepted!
Ping to the TODD PALIN IS A HUNK! list, too. There are many great pictures of our future First Dude. Love them, love them, love them.
This is a post from TeflonWarrior at Conservatives4Palin who was actually there”
“Yes the “Thrilla from Wasilla” took the stage today!
I was there and it was an event I don’t think anyone there will forget. She started with the dollar under the seat,(Dollar taped under the seats of the graduates to teach 2 lessons) 1.Got to get off your butt to make a buck. 2. Take time to look for it. This went over really great with everyone.
Then she talked about how some West washington reporters were trying to make a small town in Washington feel bad about themselves. She then told a story of a teacher who was trying to get to Alaska to be reunited with his family, his old car broke down and as he dropped off his car he didn’t know how much it was going to cost and he was worried. He went to a nearby diner where he talked to all the nice folks there. When they told him his car was fixed he was worried that he wouldn’t be able to pay the bill. The mechanic told him he would only take $10. Then she said, you know that’s the value of small town America. That teacher was my dad and those nice people were the people of Republic!
The crowd just erupted!!
Then she continued, “So when I got a request from Republic to come speak at this graduation, you bet I agreed!”
Another eruption of applause.
I think everyone was as surprised as I was! Afterwards my daughters and I got a chance to talk to both her and Todd and take pictures, she was as gracious as always and took time for anyone that came up. I told her that she nailed it & I got a big smile. There’s no stopping our Sarah Palin when she’s on a roll!”
You pinged me as I was in the process of getting the list. It’s amazing that you and I are up at the same time.
I was blessed by our church service today, even though I haven’t developed my second language “ears” yet and missed almost everything that was said. But, I reconnected with some friends and also met the parents of one of my favorite students. I pray your Sunday will go as well.
Praise God! I’m so happy you reconnected with some friends today, dearest Jem. God is GOOD! I think about you very often and keep you in my prayers. ((((Jem))))
Thank you so much, for adding that, Bigtigermike!!!
She’s the very best.
God bless and keep Sarah Palin and her precious family.
Yes, you’re right!
I am so jealous. I really pray that God will raise her up to lead our nation back to the greatest it once was.
My husband and I lived in Republic for eight years and our four children attended school there. Can’t say enough wonderful things about the people. Salt of the earth.
She looks FABULOUS - and I love those shoes!
What a gorgeous and wonderful couple they are.
Yeah. Lots of gloom and doom these days, stuff out of DC makes me think we’ve arrived in some Stalinist nightmare. I look at that, though... America still has a chance. Eagles up!
The Palins seems to be a great couple. Thanks onyx.
That’s amazing!
I’m so happy to hear that!
Her shoes ROCK!
I love the black and beige she wore.
You’re so right, dearest Billthedrill.
I love small town America and Sarah Palin does, too!
Eagles Up!

In a decent world, this Woman would be admired and respected for her love of Country and all she has accomplished in life.
But no, Hillary “reset button”, “four dead Americans”, “bimbo eruption” Clinton is a frontrunner for POTUS in 2016 because she is so capable and smart. COUGH...
It was in FR awhile ago, and you can google it. But the class president (27 graduates in a town of 1200 or so IIRC!) was supposed to find someone to be the commencement speaker. The list included businessmen, teachers, etc. Then he jokingly said “Hey - how about Sarah Palin”. His advisor said - why joke - go pursue it.
So the kid wrote some letters, no real replies. Then the advisor said to write to her parents (in a similar type of small-town in Idaho).
That letter did get a reply from Palin that said thanks for the invite, we will consider it. But they never heard anything back.
Then the kid started posting on Facebook about it. One post had the class holding a big banner saying “Sarah will you be our speaker” or something. That got the big attention - and Palin’s people got back in touch with him.
So yes, one person CAN make a difference. Even a high-school kid. I hope that Palin included that sentiment in her speech. (Can’t wait to hear it!)
