Bush had one White House visit by the IRS commissioner. Why did Obama have 157?

If you’re not already familiar with the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups under Obama, you can read all about it at entry #170 in this earlier post of mine: Here are 180 examples of Barack Obama’s lying, lawbreaking, corruption, cronyism, hypocrisy, government waste, and other misdeeds

There are two new things in this next article, and I’m not sure which of the two is more interesting.

First, during Obama’s presidency, the IRS commissioner made more visits to the White House – by a very large margin – than any other cabinet member. This tells us a lot about what Obama thinks the most important government agency is.

The second thing is that Bush had less than 1% as many visits from the IRS commissioner as Obama did. This tells us a lot about one of the fundamental differences between the political philosophies of the two presidents.

None of this is proof that Obama knew about or ordered the IRS targeting of conservative groups. But it does raise a huge amount of suspicion.

The Daily Caller reports:

Former IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman visited the White House at least 157 times during the Obama administration, more recorded visits than even the most trusted members of the president’s Cabinet.

By contrast, Shulman’s predecessor Mark Everson only visited the White House once during four years of service in the George W. Bush administration.

An analysis by The Daily Caller of the White House’s public “visitor access records” showed that every current and former member of President Obama’s Cabinet would have had to rack up at least 60 more public visits to the president’s home to catch up with “Douglas Shulman.”

The record depicts an IRS chief uniquely at home in the White House.

The sheer volume of Shulman’s White House visits has left congressional investigators puzzled.

“What would be some of the reasons you might be at the White House?” Virginia Democratic Rep. Gerry Connolly asked Shulman during a congressional hearing last week.

“Um, the Easter Egg Roll with my kids,” Shulman replied.”

“Sooner or later this (question) will have to be answered,” tweeted Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume, “What was the ex-IRS chief doing at the White House all those times?”

Don’t try to convince me he was seeing Obama...that’s a joke, obama isn’t in the White House that often, so WHO was he seeing...that is KEY and nobody is asking! (Except me?)

If the presidential election of 2012 indeed was stolen, why the bitter criticism of Romney?

I don't criticize Romney . . he should right now be in our White House instead of that Kenyan-born imposter and his rather ponderous wife.

I didn't mean you personally criticized Romney for his loss in a “stolen election,” but many conservatives and Freepers did.

That’s easy, it was Bush’s fault the White House was not accomodating to the IRS.

A good indication of where Obama’s priorities lie - wherever the money is.

“Public service” may be, as our president claims, a ‘noble profession’, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be a very lucrative one, too.

Sure, that’s why he made it a priority to imprison those financial execs who almost brought our country to ruin...NOT.

From too big to fail to too big to jail (as it is being said even by libs)

“I’m beginning to think that the reason Conservatives aren’t as successful as liberals is because we play by the rules.”

If Issa had any stones he’d bring back Shulman for another day of testimony and ask him specifically about what was discussed on every single date. Instead the Republicans on the committee gave him a pass letting him stick it to them with an “in your face” comment about going to the Easter egg roll. Shulman played the committee for fools Just as Ms. Lerner did.

We celebrate July the 4th.

They celebrate April 15th.

Count me in as another who believes that the regime used the IRS to steal the election.
Wanna bet they are still targeting groups with their IRS?

I think that Dick Morris is on to something.

http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/morris-obama-irs-scandal/2013/05/30/id/507260?s=al&promo_code=13AD1-1

“The incredible frequency of the White House visits — essentially weekly — indicate that Obama must have been deeply involved with the inner workings of the audits and harassment of conservative groups,” Morris writes on his website.

Morris asks what other reason would have brought Schulman to the White House 157 times during the period that groups with “tea party,” “patriot” and other conservative buzzwords in their names were being targeted for extra scrutiny.

“Not ObamaCare. Not without having (Health and Human Services) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in attendance, you wouldn’t,” Morris says. “About Treasury issues? Deficit reduction? Not without Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner.”

The reason, Morris says, is that Obama was following the IRS actions with an “obsessive, personal involvement.”

Why else would IRS Commissioner Douglas Schulman have visited the White House at least once a week?

While I don’t always agree with Dick he is spot on regarding the Shulman visits. Surely there is a log showing who Shulman met with on these visits or the purpose of his visits. You just don’t go there 157 times without somebody knowing what your business is that day. I am sure there is a written agenda for his trips if not then Dick is correct in that the visits were for working on targeting the Tea Party. I still think it involved Robert Bauer.
