Some have speculated that the CIA was running a prison/training camp/gun running operation. It certainly was not a diplomatic outpost and the ambassador was not in Benghazi that night to dedicate a children's hospital.
It looks as if the only phone call is to construct a cover story at a time when the last two Americans who died were still alive and fighting for their lives. There’s the scandal and that has to be uncovered.

I’ve been following this story closely, and in all this time I never thought of that possibility.
That makes me want to throw up.
Deniability is all, for Obama. He just wanted to stay out of the loop, probably left orders not to intervene, and was unreachable during the second part of the attack. Most likely nobody had the nerve to just go ahead and do what needed to be done to save these men because it would have countermanded Obama’s initial orders and they couldn’t find him to get approval for anything else.
The only thing he did seem to bother to do after the first part of the attack was to try to cook up a story with Hillary that would exempt the Muslims and AQ of any blame and make it sound like it was, somehow, the fault of the US.
I doubt that anybody knows where he was during the attack and I doubt that they could reach him. Probably once he had hung up with Hillary, he was in his secret location, designed for complete deniability.
The Hussein Head “Team” probably liked the plot from “Clear and Present Danger” and figured anyone who could/would talk would be eliminated.

This is also why the survivors have been hidden, cannot talk, and no one can interview them. The secret they hold is not about the Administration's abandonment of Americans...but about the Administration's participation in some scheme which Obama does not want the U.N. or world to find out.
And while Americans were in harm's way, Obama spent his time trying to be sure that the real story would not be leaked. The loss of a few American lives was inmaterial to him.
I'm not letting Obama off the hook, ultimately he is responsible, and this is his MO. However, she is the gatekeeper and the devious mind behind his machinations.
First the hope, and maybe the belief, no-one would be killed because the war on terror was over and Obama won it for us. Then, after the Ambassador was murdered, the immediate panic to cover it up took over all attention, and, except for hoping there would be no more deaths without invoking rescue forces, all things except re-election fell off the radar.
