...If anything, Bachmanns exit means that the conservative movement is about to be better-funded, because conservative small-donors wont be spending over $10 million to re-elect her to a completely safe House seat every two years...

Nonsense. The obvious difference between them is that she won and they didnt. She got redistricted by the libs and still beat them. Mourdock and Akin lost states that even Romney was able to carry. That's because her district is so solidly GOP that Romney won it by 15%, compared to her 2%.

Besides, she’s still there for another 18 months or so.

What if it went to Free Republic instead?

God has surely planned much bigger things for her.
God's plan is probably a cushy, highp-paying job at a conservative think tank. Watch for the announcement in the next few weeks.
Even Bachmann isn't dumb enough to try to run for a Minnesota statewide office.

Just from reading about her retirement in here and watching the Posts I can see than she frightens the piss out of a lot of Republicans who don’t want to hear the truth.

"I know. And Romney won by 15. Thats sort of the point."What point? The district is liberal, and supported a liberal RINO for president. So how does that make it a "safe" district for a conservative?

What makes these morons think that this money will automatically be handed over to the GOP-E?Even if it's not, the donors are better off spending the money on personal items than wasting it on defending a safe GOP seat.

She won’t get the endorsement. Graves is a shoo-in.

She makes honey taste like hemlock.

What makes these morons think that this money will automatically be handed over to the GOP-E?”
Because they are morons. As I explained to Cornyn at a meeting this past spring, I contribute to those that share most of the same beliefs as I do, not organizations. Same criteria I used to decide to contribute to Cruz but won’t contribute to Cornyn and didn’t contribute to my Representative or to Texas Federation of Republican Women, National FRW, Cornyn’s senatorial group or the national republican group.
Cornyn responded he was somewhat confused because as a group they could exert more “power and target specific audiences” than individually and that they were in a better position so see things from the “big picture” perspective. My closing comment to him was that the likelihood of my voting for or supporting someone he or any of the PAC’s of which he was a part was slim and none.
They just are all morons.

She had tough races because the national leftists poured tens of millions to defeat her. She prevailed through it all. She’s a great spokesperson for our views, which is why she’s under track. Liberals can’t allow successful women, blacks or Hispanics that can sell conservatism.
Bachmann is one of the good ones. Watching her under attack here makes me want to stop coming here to avoid all the sniping from suppose allies.

She fights. She and a very few others are the only reason I still consider myself a Repub.
Watching Repubs attack her is a reminder that the GOP may well be beyond fixing.

Oh goody. Now the GOP will have more money to screw the rest us with better efficiency.
Boehner, Cantor and McCarthey the triumverate of RINO betrayal can use a little extra cash to tax the interntet, let 11-20 million illegals get on welfare and a path to citizenship and so so much more.

Bachmann is one of the good ones. That she is. My personal honor roll of genuine patriots currently includes Ted Cruz, Louie Gohmert, Sarah Palin and, of course, Michele Bachman. There are others but I think those are at the forefront in the fight to restore American exceptionalism.
To: wku man
Her gerrymandered congressional district consists of outer suburbs of Minneapolis-St. Paul. Bachmann won by about 13% in 2010, and 1% in 2012. She was facing the 2012 candidate again in 2014.

Even if it's not, the donors are better off spending the money on personal items than wasting it on defending a safe GOP seat. But Bachmann's seat is/was NOT safe.

I think we need to distance ourselves from personalities, and get down to results. The fact is that her margins of victory have gotten smaller, not bigger, which is the reverse of how political incumbency is supposed to work. I think she's a great gal, but a lousy politician. Reagan was continually derided as a kook and a senile retard by the media, but he got his message through. Bachmann is getting a tiny % of bile Reagan received, and she's making all kinds of unforced errors. It's time for her to pass the baton to a conservative who turns water into wine rather than the other way around.

Lets not forget the attacks that came from those claiming to be on the right. Just go back and look at the vile attacks by FReepers who happily repeated obvious democrat lies and talking points about her husband being a closet homosexual.
Go back and look at the Kapo conservatives who took so much joy in attacking her over the fact that she had migraines in the past. I notice they aren't calling Hillary Clinton "unfit" today.
Go back and look at the attacks over her comments about drilling for oil "Even in the everglades". look how many FReepers who went full greentard to attack but didn't have the courage to admit they were wrong when they discovered that there are actually working oil and gas wells there now.
They accused her of leaking nuclear secrets out of Pakistan yet once again lacked the courage to fess up when confronted with the fact that they weren't secrets at all and had in fact been nationally published many months before.n They called her stupid for speaking about terrorist training in Cuba but she's the one who actually sits on the permanent select committee on intelligence.
If you want to see how low conservatives can get, just go back and look at any thread about her from the campaign. They could have been the leftards attacking Palin and you couldn't tell them apart. The only reason "Moderates" look up to democrats is because they're beneath the democrats.
