*completely safe House seat*
She won by less than 1% last year.
I know. And Romney won by 15. That’s sort of the point.
I guess I’m misinformed. I’ve always thought highly of Bachmann.
That's racist....
I’m gonna have to agree. Bachmann is a weird combination of Mourdock and Akin in a skirt. I don’t understand her inability to think before she speaks. Accountants ought to have that down to an art. She talks like a used car salesman, except used car salesmen are charismatic. And the weird thing is this - like the author, I agree with most of her bedrock positions. She’s like the anti-Reagan - Reagan’s whole appeal was he explained things in such a way that people who were previously doubtful agreed with him, whereas Bachmann talks about the issues in such a way that even her allies want to back away from her.
the writer had some bad ‘intel’ .
will Wetterling contest Graves for the ‘Rat race ?
As a self-proclaimed Constitutional Conservative, Bachmann is committed to fixing Washingtons broken ways by advocating for Americas adherence to the Constitution. Bachmann has become known on Capitol Hill as a member who champions tax reform, works to cut wasteful government spending and supports limiting the size of our government. She also is devoted to the repeal of Obamacare, a legislation she believes is an example of governments recent uninhibited growth. In Bachmanns view, the government needs to make the kind of serious spending decisions that many families and small businesses across America have been forced to make. As a believer in the traditional values upon which this country was founded, she consistently defends Americas religious liberties and the importance of the family as the first unit of government. She also has continuously worked to defend the right to life for all Americans, including the unborn.
She didn’t say she was retiring. Her “farewell” speech actualy looks like a campaign video:
Bachmann is not going away.
And watch the GOPe groin leeches come running to attack her in this thread.
Yeah she said 8 years representing 1 specific district is plenty.
LOL - Your description of her fits to a “T”. I’ve always noted that although I ultimately agree with MB on most issues and actually admire her tenacity on certain issues, but every time I see her I am generally turned off by either something she says or the way she says it. I’ve never been able to quite pin down what was but it was definitely there.
“Bachmann is a weird combination of Mourdock and Akin in a skirt”
Nonsense. The obvious difference between them is that she won and they didn’t. She got redistricted by the libs and still beat them. Mourdock and Akin lost states that even Romney was able to carry.
Sour Grapes Alert!
Sheesh.
I don’t agree with everything that Rep Bachmann says but I do on probably 95% of it.
If she were a man she would be getting Ted Cruz praise for having one HUGE set of huevos.
Reagan was a workaholic* and a master politician. He spent a lot of time thinking through ways to make conservative political messages easier to swallow. I don't have the impression that Bachmann does much more than regurgitate talking points from conservative websites. The problem with that is that conservative websites are preaching to true believers. If Reagan had simply parroted National Review talking points, there is no way he would have won two presidential elections in landslides.
* His children are pretty screwed up because neither he nor his wives paid much attention to them while they were growing up. You could say he was a great father to the electorate, and a lousy father to his children.
I like Michele Bachmann and contributed to her last campaign and would happily do it again. Michele is a great American!
Ted Cruz won by 16 pts in TX, same as Romney. In her district, Bachmann won by 2 points, compared to Romney's 15. It's not that complicated - she turns gold into dross.
What makes these morons think that this money will automatically be handed over to the GOP-E?
Yeah...kind of like the way Palin didn't go away. Maybe she can Tweet full-time! Yeah, that’ll put the Dems in their place.
I'm close to beyond caring anymore.
