I've almost completed the 1st week of Insanity. I understand that it is designed to be a rough workout, but I have a hard time keeping up with Shaun T. I was wondering if other have completed this and if they were happy with the results. A guy I work with does P90X and repeats it - he's done it 6 times so far. I definitely feel better after a week.
Also, it is folly to try to keep up with Shawn T. His whole program is based on “do what you can do”. As you build up muscle and cardio strength, you will do more, and still be exhausted. The workouts should really never get easier, because you are supposed to be pushing yourself each time. If you watch some of the people in his videos, they take breaks and can’t do all he is doing. That makes me feel good about what I can and can’t do.
It will make you a man of steel.
I bought it because when I was younger I never really cared to workout with weights much.
I was into Tae Kwon Do, Biking, hiking, competing on skates, mountain climbing, fishing and sometimes I had to hike to my favorite spots.
P90x replicates doing a variety of sports and your body never catches up.
Can’t wait.
Here are some great inspirational videos - watch them in order. Check out how young Arthur looks in the last one as compared to the first one. Nothing short of a miracle!

Paul Ryan is a P90 fan.. Guy next door to me plays that repetitive ‘thump thump thump thump’ DVD and I feel like strangling him.
Have done many rounds and coached many others through it..it works if you do..but its something you have to be prepared to be focused and determined to do..it will challenge you.
My wife started P90x over three years ago. She keeps repeating it while taking breaks in between. I think she has all of it memorized so the video is more for timing/pacing. I’m tired of hearing it. She didn’t like Insanity. It would have killed me and the impact would have destroyed what little is holding my joints together. She’s kind of looking for something else now.
I’m rooting for you- this is like a 3 month program, isnt it?
Start a weekly thread and PING LIST!!
what kind of vitamins and natural herbs are you taking?
If you doctor is OK with it try these:
Tumeric AND pepper (best to take both, pepper is ordinary table pepper)
Magnesium AND omega 3 oils (take 1 mag and 4 capsules of Fish Oil)
Niacin
Potassium
a good general multi-vitaming
AND OREGANO! get a pizza and put a ton of oregano on one slice. It is an amazing anti-inflammatory, although I think cutting BREAD completely from your diet may help, in which case try pesto (olive oil and oregano) on salads.
a GLUTEN FREE diet (avoid all bread and flour) may help (a LOT)
I have endocrine problems. Nothing I could do as far as adjusting my diet would change anything. Nor do I have the cash right now to start a vitamin and supplement regimen.
I’m mostly Italian, I’ll never cut things made with flour out of my diet. Pasta? I could eat that all day, every day.
read up on Celiac Disease and this article it good:

Good news- there are MANY gluten free pasta's out there and THANK GOD some are really very good (as in- can't tell the difference)
