I do not believe in or follow standards written by folks possessing little or no real education. This means you - “Eddikation”, “Political’Science’”, “Studies”, and other worthless degree possessors.
I prefer to call it Commie-Core.

#17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

Give me your children when they are young and they will never turn away from what they are taught is truth and how wonderful the government is for them and how government protects them and cares for them. (a bit off the famous quote but close enough to get the point across).
Socialist’s will be turned out and they will not know they have been brain washed.
God help America and let not evil prevail. We pray for thy mercy, forgiveness and help in America, in Jesus name , amen.

Just say No. Do not comply. Tell the school your kid isn’t going to be attached to a machine so they can data mine him on the spot, and they can all go to hell.
Let’s have a dual system where kids are traditionally or classically educated and another one with this common core abomination and see who does better.
Let the kids who are using common core take the SAT and ACT. Let students who are classically or traditionally educated use some other test developed by administrators and teachers of classical education.
Start colleges that use a classical or traditional curriculum.
And sue the Bill and Linda Gates foundation up the wazoo.
I’ll take Commie Core for $500 Alex. :-)
Common Core, along with Agenda 21 will be the undoing of this country.
I’m not trying to be a pain but other than the data mining portion, I’m not sure why conservatives are upsert by this. The criticisms in this article sound like liberal complaints when the author laments a lack of diversity, too much objective testing, and that it’s to rigorous and doesnt allow for “critical thinking.”
As far as the reading list is concerned, I’m not sure what is wrong with reading nonfiction documents like the Gettysburg Address, Patrick Henry’s “Speech to the 2nd virginia convention”, Washington’s Farewell Address, Thomas Payne’s Common Sense, THE BILL OF RIGHTS, AND REAGAN’S ADDRESS AT MOSCOW STATE. Not yelling just truly surprised. I wasnt given thos to read and I went to a private HS during the 1980’s.
They have also noted how dumbed down high school textbooks have gotten over the last 50 years. Something conservatives have been angered about as well. Apparently the reading level is going to ratchet up as part of this program.
again,, I’m not trying to be argumentative but I have to admit I see some positives for those like me who feel that high school and elementary education has been dumbed down over the years and has lead to people graduating who were barely literate. Hopefully this gets rid of the candy-assed approach where kids are given passing grades so as to avoid hurting their feelings.
One can wish, right?
