I don't think that's correct. Wasn't it in the Wednesday testimony that the military special forces stationed in Tripoli were explicitly told twice to stand down when they tried to respond to first a request for backup and later a request to evacuate?
Tommy Vietor-—who is this douche, stephanie miller in drag?
Which, curiously, doesn't explain why the forces in Tripoli were told to stand down.
“They were ready to go but then were told they couldnt go because no one was responding to their requests and giving them the order to go.”
The 3 AM call came, and Obama let it go to voicemail.
WRONG!!!
Obama left more than 30 to die. Four did...the rest were rescued.
He is the CIC. There is no "plausible deniability. The buck stops with him.
I noticed that Hillary didn’t talk to Hicks until 8 am (our time). Office hours?
When Obama learned of the attack, he didn’t rush back to the WH, he finished his visit at the hospital, went to the WH, met in the oval for 15 or so minutes, left to eat dinner with Michelle and the kids, then went to bed.
Reminiscent of a wasted opportunity to get OBL during Slick's admin.
Actions or inactions cost the lives of our personnel on foreign soil. CINC is responsible whether he denies it or not.
Key point. Line officers were acting on their own authority, preparing to get underway based on their awareness of the situation and the SOP for that situation.
Where is General Carter Ham?
LIBERALISM IS a mental disorder.
It was Lt Col Gibson-Def Attache. According to Hicks' testimony, the order to stand down or not go came from U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM,) which was headed by General Ham at the time. Ham was in DC during the Benghzi attack.
Mission of AFRICOM
"U.S. Africa Command protects and defends the national security interests of the United States by strengthening the defense capabilities of African states and regional organizations and, when directed, conducts military operations, in order to deter and defeat transnational threats and to provide a security environment conducive to good governance and development."
The command's operations, exercises, and security cooperation programs support U.S. Government foreign policy and do so primarily through military-to-military activities and assistance programs. Our core mission of assisting African states and regional organizations to strengthen their defense capabilities better enables Africans to address their security threats and reduces threats to U.S. interests. We concentrate our efforts on contributing to the development of capable and professional militaries that respect human rights, adhere to the rule of law, and more effectively contribute to stability in Africa. U.S. AFRICOM most effectively advances U.S. national security interests through focused, sustained engagement with partners in support of our shared security objectives.
U.S. Africa Command has approximately 2,000 assigned personnel, including military, U.S. federal civilian employees, and U.S. contractor employees. About 1,500 work at the command's headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany. Others are assigned to AFRICOM units at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, and RAF Molesworth, England. The command's programs in Africa are coordinated through Offices of Security Cooperation and Defense Attache Offices in approximately 38 nations. The command also has liaison officers at key African posts, including the African Union, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping and Training Centre in Ghana.
Obama met with Panetta, and Dempsey, at 5 PM at a meeting already scheduled. The attack on our mission in Benghazi began at 3:42 DC time.
At 4:32 PM DC time the Office of the Secretary Defense and the Joint Staff are notified of the attack by the National Military Command Center at the Pentagon. "The information is quickly passed to Secretary Panetta and General Dempsey."
Treason is the reason for the lyin’ and the appeasin’.
There were about 40 Americans there.....only 4 died....all were left to die.
Yes, it was 2am Libya time and I believe it was *am DC time when she spoke to Hicks. (It is currently 6:20pm Libya time)

Correct, the meeting was already scheduled. Obama heard of the attacks while he was at the hospital visiting wounded veterans with Michelle. They didn't rush back, they finished their visit. I mention this because all the whoopla over Bush finishing reading a story to children on 9/11.Obama never went to the situation room after leaving his scheduled meeting and dining with his family. It is a hard and fast rule of Michelle's. Obama must dine with the family everyday at 5:30? 6:oo and he can go back to whatever after that. Obama didn't go back, he had to rest up for his campaigning.(I would need to hunt down that quote from Michelle for the precise dinnertime)
The two SEALs were already in Benghazi....working for the CIA....at a complex about a mile or so away from the consulate. They did disobey orders to go and help the Embassy staff.
Dur...I just realized I worked that forward instead of backwards. Well, that sounds better. At least she talked to them beyond bankers hours. Small but better.
I would think Ham would know. There’s been a lot of shuffling of personnel (Ham was already scheduled to leave his post, however) mostly, I suspect to obfuscate and make it harder to investigate.
I thought it was 8 PM on 9/11 (2 AM on 9/12 Libya time). That certainly fits with Hicks' timeline. 8 AM DC time would have been long after it was all over.
