Something about this story doesn't compute. I'd like to know how anyone other than family member even has the authority to invite someone to a funeral in the first place.

Was this really a "funeral," or was it a government-run "prayer service"?

this service took place in Afghanistan...THE FAMILY MEMBERS WERE NOT CONSULTED
