It would seems that Twitter has learned a little from the book of Alinsky. The latest hashtag trending: #ObamaSongTitles .
Here is a little of what is being posted:

This, and other posts of yours are really interesting.
It seems that the cynicism of the social crowd, has no bounds.
That’s both a good and bad thing.
Twinkle Twinkle Little Czar...

‘It seems that the cynicism of the social crowd, has no bounds.’
With all due respect, the communists drew first blood.
Agreed.
I would advance the idea that many of the cynics posting to this tweeter thread actually voted for 0bama.
What, no “I’m the Taxman”?
Taxman was a popular choice. I just thought it was a little too obvious :)
Ah, the pro-Obama trolls do go on these threads to try and post their screed. They fail utterly. I actually got into a little tweet vs. tweet with one on Obamanomics. He disappeared the moment he was confroted with actual history and fact. Lasted about 3 or 4 comments.
Nachum.
Is this twitter thread your doing ?
Or did you happen to find it as something that was trending ?
Ha. I wish I could take credit for it! No, this grew organically all on its own. I only put it on FR for FReepers to see- and to join in if they wish.
I need to get more familiar with Twitter.
It seems to me that in order to gain any traction with an idea or concept, you need to have a base of followers that can push those ideas to a level that will then gain a much wider audience.
Can you point me to the source or group that is advancing this form of ridicule ?
Just go to the Twitter main site and type #ObamaSongTitles in the search field. The page will come up.
I’ve grown fond of Twitter. Before I used to hate it. The best folks on Twitter are #tcot (True Conservatives on Twitter). :-)
To me, twitter is mostly a source of information. I rarely use the actual twitter web pages, and I don’t send out tweets much anymore. One can only search for one single topic at a time there. I have use tweetdeck for windows for close to three years now. Just google it. I highly recommend it. Twitter actually owns it now. With this tool one can have multiple search columns such as News, #tcot -#p2, Freerepublic, #emptyChair, just to name a few of about 30 searches or groups I have. Most trending political topics such as this #ObamaSongTitles will show up in the #tcot feed. Just click on a #hastag in one of the posts and a new search column will open up with that filter set. #tcot is “Top Conservatives on Twitter”. I have noticed that hot news typically appears on twitter within minutes. It can be a good way to keep on top of events, as well as find interesting topics and articles. In the #tcot search I show above, ‘#tcot -#p2’ will show posts with #tcot tag but not those that also have #p2 tag, which is the major liberal channel tag, so it cuts down on the Lib noise a bit.
One can create groups of users in twitter. So grouping all of the major news org twitter accounts into one group, you get one single column of headlines scrolling by. Over time I had identified many of the good conservative information sources and put them into a single group I call ‘Conservative Union Of Souls”. If here any are interested, I can publish that list so you could subscribe into it. Just message @ri4dc.
You don’t need to have a large following on twitter to tap in to its usefulness. You just need to know how to search for the feeds that interest you. Tweetdeck helps to organize these searches with ease over the single threaded web page searches. What you end up with is a console of scrolling news and information, and some funny and interesting stuff flows from it. Just one more available tool.

Why in the world would you rely on Twitter for information, when you’ve got the whole big wide internet to play with? That’s like searching for a diamond in a sh**pile.
AC/DC’s “Highway To Hell” should have been on that list.
I totally agree that twitter unfiltered contains a lot of carp. That was the precise purpose of my post, to which you’ve clearly taken annoyance to. Twitter is just one of those many sources that is on the whole big internet that MANY people use to post current event and political information, in headline form, which leads to interesting blogs and alternative information sources. Some are good, some are not. Why NOT utilize it? It certainly isn’t my only source. I don’t really ‘rely’ on it, as you suggest. It’s just one of many internet sources which can be useful. Not sure what you have against it, but I certainly am not forcing you to get an account and use it, any more than I am trying to force you to cut your cable with my tag line.
I thought “#ObamaSongs” was funny. Posts to #EmptyChair made me laugh hysterically at one point. But surely you missed all that. Some on this thread expressed interest in Twitter and I was simply suggesting an available FREE tool which makes Twitter easier to filter out the noise and act as a useful news/information feeder that can fit the user’s interests. If you filter twitter properly, it can be quite useful and timely as a source. I am sorry if that irritates you. Use whatever internet sources you wish. Kay?
I never understood the propensity of some Freepers to harshly criticize those that simply attempt to assist other Freepers. #whatever
What do I have against Twitter? Just that the most empty-headed dingbats in the galaxy post there, and 80% of the comments are mindless babble. Not even decent stream-of-consciousness. Sure, you will find a nugget of wisdom sooner or later. But look at all the bulls*** you have to dig through to find it! A total waste of precious time.
