Muslim Brotherhood About To Be Installed In Syria
Guns 2 Jihadists ^ | John

Posted on 04/25/2013 4:26:31 PM PDT by JohnPDuncan

The Washington Post is reporting that the anti-Semitic Muslim Brotherhood is opening offices in Syria in an attempt to 'dominate' a fractured Syrian opposition.

This is almost certainly an attempt by the Obama administration to install a Muslim Brotherhood puppet in the event that the Assad regime falls. It may also mean that the administration is about to do what Sen. John McCain has been demanding and to arm the rebels directly in order to hasten the regime's demise.

The Obama administration has been one of the Muslim Brotherhood's keenest backers in Egypt providing the regime with dozens of F-16 fighter jets, Abrams tanks and just last month releasing $250m in foreign aid.

Christians in Syria perhaps have the most to fear from a Muslim Brotherhood take over of their country as Catholic Online reports that Egyptian Muslims are murdering Coptic Christians in the country "with impunity":-

Pope Tawadros II, leader of Egypt's Coptic Christians, has openly criticized President Morsi for his failure to stem the violence despite pledges to do so. The Muslim attackers are yet to face any repercussions for their violence.

Very interesting they’re showing up there after Kerry gives them $250m.

Pray for Syria’s Christians.

Actually, an MB government might be the lesser of evils there.

To start with, MB is Sunni, whereas Assad and Hezbollah across the border in Lebanon are Shiite, and allies/puppets of Tehran they want to use to strike at Israel.

If MB gets Syria, Hezbollah is going to be out in the cold. For a time there was talk of a division of Syria, creating a majority Sunni eastern Syria, and a Shiite western Syria possibly unifying with a divided eastern Lebanon.

But MB will want the whole ball of wax. And they see Hezbollah Shiites as heretics, so will be glad to smite them.

My estimation is that this will actually cool things down somewhat, because the Shiites were always more belligerent with Israel in recent times. It will also settle down the Shiites in Lebanon, because without Iranian resupply via Assad, they are very poor. And very vulnerable if Israel attacks them.

While Morsi in Egypt has cut ties with Israel, he has his hands full of other things for the foreseeable future, so a war against Israel is not in the picture. Egypt is six kinds of disaster area.

A Syrian MB would be in pretty much the same situation.

Iran, however, would really be taking a major hit in its ability to wage war.

If the MB gets Syria they will kill the Christians there many of whom have fled the nut-jobs who took over Iraq.

It will be a disaster.

And they’re not wanted anyway.

You know, the election is over. How about fighting the next battle instead of the last.

Realistically speaking, among the contenders are there any who *wouldn’t* slaughter the Christians in Syria if they came to power?

They’re all Muslims, even if Assad claimed he was a secular Muslim. They are all murderous to Christians with little warning. If the Christians just cannot bear to leave Syria, then they should hole up in an enclave contiguous with a foreign border they could cross to get away if they had to.

Assad is like Saddam.. he doesn’t persecute them for the sake of it. After Saddam was removed from Iraq the Christians there went to Syria as they were under threat from the islamics. Now they’re under threat again.

I hate McCain.

I’ve long thought that the Orthodox churches could band together to create sort of a religious “peace corps/defense advisory force” for oppressed Christians around the world.

In practice, the organization would have many resources, but officially and on the surface, have an intentionally nebulous “humanitarian” purpose.

They would train a Christian community for passive and some active self defense, including martial arts, set up an open emergency notification system among themselves for mutual protection, and a secret emergency communications system to speak to and send and receive data to and from organizations outside their home country. Likewise they could be given fairly inexpensive surveillance cameras to document abusive behavior.

In more acute situations, they would act as international observers, even helping to provide emergency funding if they are attacked.

Outside of that country they would work on the diplomatic front in three directions: the US in general, the Russian Orthodox church to influence the Russian government, and the Roman church for many other countries support.

On a personal level, for these oppressed communities, knowledge is half the battle, as well as developing local alliances, if possible.
