A University of Buffalo (SUNY) professor was arrested for screaming obscenities at an administration approved graphic pro-life display. While cursing profusely, she accused the pro-lifers of being "profane."
The video below shows the arrest along with the professor cursing and finally yelling out to surrounding students to tell her 1 p.m. class that she wouldn't be able to teach that day because she was being taken away in handcuffs.
I contacted the media relations department at UB and they confirmed the arrest. John DellaContrada, Assistant Vice President for Media Relations at UB, told CMR that:
"Laura Curry was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. She is an adjunct instructor of media study. She is entitled to due process under the law.
This was a display by a student club, the UB Students for Life. Student organizations are allowed to reserve space on campus for purposes of free expression.
The University at Buffalo strives to create an environment in which diverse opinions can be expressed and heard. As a public university, it is a fundamental value of UB that all members of the campus community and their invited guests have a right to peacefully express their views and opinions, regardless of whether others may disagree with those expressions. This includes the right of protesters to oppose the views or opinions of others, but not in such a way as to limit or prevent the speaker's freedom of expression or interfere with university operations."
I asked whether there would be any ramifications over the incident but I didn't receive an answer on that.
Mind you, Professor Curry curses an awful lot while accusing the pro-life display of being profane.

The Christian response should be to pray for such a person, because they are in a world of hurt.
Someone like that has a difficult time watching a commercial with a cute baby in it.
Yeah. I thought that, too. One of those dead babies could be hers.
It would be helpful to have a pic of the display in question...
Exactly. That was my first thought as well.
Bump!
What was she referring to when she said that man was hung in the 40’s or 50’s? Sorry I didn’t write down the exact quote but it didn’t sound to me like it went with the topic.
My first thought too. She reacted like it hit a little too close to home for her.
Actually “media studies” is sort of like “Gender Studies” or “African American Studies”....basically easy courses for those who shouldn’t be in college in the first place. Similar to “Corporate Communications” for football players.
In my college days, 80-84, you were taught to take a position on a subject and defend that point.
I never once thought of using obscenities, let alone scream them. Is this really the face of those who head our institutes of higher learning?
I've been in -likely - thousands of meetings over the course of my career. Time and again, the topic has come up: "If only we had one more technician/doctor/nurse/engineer/plumber/electrician/ etc, we could get this project done on time..."
"Media Studies" major - or, frankly, any major with Studies in the title - has never, ever been mentioned. Not once, not in over 20 years working as a professional.
Sez me, this anecdote is relevant to anyone choosing a college degree.
Militant raging feminazi.
That’s not shocking - you should hear me in the morning if I can’t get a cup of coffee. ;-)
There have been problems before at this institution involving vandalism of pro-life displays.

My money’s on this harpy being one of the vandals, or an instigator.
In theory, I could see a use for this. Maybe in management, HR, or in sales & marketing. We can debate the usefulness of these postions until the cows come home.... :-)
Reality? I dunno. I don't know anyone with a "Corporate Communications" degree. Doesn't sound very worthwhile.
Pray for people like her! She cannot seem to put normal thoughts into context.
2nd thought was I'm glad I wasn't one of the cops. I'd probably be the one who got arrested because I would have decked her and told her to shut up.
If we must be forced by government to accept abortions maybe some retroactive abortions could help in the long run.
