Here's The Democrats' Plan To Pass Gun Control In The Senate
BuzzFeed ^ | April 12, 2013 | Benny Johnson

It has been almost 20 years since Congress has taken up the topic of gun control legislation.

As the new debate over gun control heats up, senior Senate aides on both sides of the issue laid out advocates’ plan to get their bill through the Senate.

The strategy advocated by gun control supporters in the Senate was described to BuzzFeed by two senior Republican Senate aides working to oppose the effort, and confirmed by a Democratic Senate leadership aide working to get it passed.

Prospects for the gun control legislation weren't looking good until the recent Toomey/Manchin proposal.

The legislation proposed by Republican Sen. Pat Toomey and Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin would expand background checks for those looking to purchase guns, while providing some exemptions.

The new Toomey/Manchin language will replace the old background check language currently in the bill and will be championed as bipartisan....

Today’s congressional word of the day is “infringe”. Can you say “infringe”? I knew you could.

Now let’s write a law!

Yahoo news is stating in an AP article that the upcoming vote is ‘too close to call’

Swell-0 republicans giving liberals even more legitimacy by even agreeign to have the vote- The rhino dolts are too thick of skull to realize that if they go to vote, and the vote is close, even if the right wins for once, the citizens will think “Hmmm- close vote- EVEN SOME ‘CONSERVATIVE’ REPUBLICANS voted for it- so therefore it must be a pretty ok bill- maybe we shoudl push to have it brought up again for another vote’

We are watchign our country go down hte crapper right before our eyes thanks to spineless republicans who didn’t have enoguh guts to hold a press conference and tell the american peopel that ‘htere was no way in hell that htey were goign to vote for such an unconstituional law’, and for not saying ‘the democrats are sitting i nsession right now votign on wherther htey have the right to ignore the second amednment and to violate your constitutional rights- We however will NEVER vote for such a blatantly anti-Amrican bill- EVER!”

Thanks Republicans in washington- you are helping to send htis coutnry right down the crapper along with your antiAmerican liberals in washington

These Repubs are showing one hell of a lot of hubris these days, with that “who else would they vote for” attitude.

I always knew it was just a matter of time until the "fix" was in. All this "debate", all the dog and pony shows-- Madwoman Feinstein et al-- were just a distraction for the main event: 100% gun registration. They will get it done by calling it a "background check", but just before the vote, a poison pill--poison to our liberties-- will be slipped in, guaranteeing that EVERY 4473 transfer must be scanned into a national gun database, and any transfer going forward requiring a 4473 will also be scanned into the database.

Soon, it will be 100% illegal to sell a gun OR ammo to anyone without an Illinois-style FOID and a 4473 form.

And Americans will swallow it, hook line and sinker. What will be do? We have to eat. We need to be able to travel for our jobs. The Feds will take all of that away if we don't comply. And please don't tell me you're going to go shoot ATF agents or congresstraitors. BULL. I don't believe there's an American left with the ba||s to do it.

Americans wouldn't even have the ba||s to participate in a 4473 Burn Barrel Day, as I described on my blog.

Once registration is done, confiscation is a snap. Feds don't even need to go door to door. They just announce that anyone who doesn't turn their guns in automatic are fined $20,000 on their taxes, and have their Interstate Travel Permits (oh, yeah, we'll get there, too) revoked. Then, if that doesn't work, they'll revoke your Work Permit (coming soon, comrades). Next, they'll come and get your kids and put them in foster care, because you're committing a federal felony of child endangerment. Nope, no door-to-door will be necessary; you will bend over and take it.

Of course they will. Soon, Congress will be 100% Democrat. Once that's accomplished, it'll be time for a Constitutional Convention. Indiana is already getting its delegates ready for one.

Of course, the 2nd Amendment and most of the Bill of Rights will be swept away. They have no authority to do this, except the authority of the barrel of the gun, like Mao their hero said. And they'll have all the guns at some point.

I cannot disagree.

Our system of government has utterly failed.

I don’t believe any government can work because it relies on people and people are corrupt.

I do not know what the solution to this is or if there is even one.

Don't worry, you will still have some of your 2nd Amd rights left over.

We'll just need to make some adjustments.

Here is the only solution:

"The withdrawal of a State from a league has no revolutionary or insurrectionary characteristic. The government of the State remains unchanged as to all internal affairs. It is only its external or confederate relations that are altered. To term this action of a Sovereign a 'rebellion' is a gross abuse of language." "Obstacles may retard, but they cannot long prevent the progress of a movement sanctified by its justice, and sustained by a virtuous people ." "Secession belongs to a different class of remedies. It is to be justified upon the basis that the States are Sovereign. There was a time when none denied it. I hope the time may come again, when a better comprehension of the theory of our Government, and the inalienable rights of the people of the States, will prevent any one from denying that each State is a Sovereign, and thus may reclaim the grants which it has made to any agent whomsoever."

President Jefferson Davis

Definitely a possibility.

But are states and their individual populations going to opt for that?

I’ve no idea.

One thing I do know is that we have some staggeringly stupid peoplee in this country,
