Ann Coulter needs to stop reading the liberal media because she’s becoming more like them every day (h/t: Daily Caller):
On the day that Margaret Thatcher passes, Coulter goes after Sarah Palin by saying that Thatcher wanted to teach Palin ‘how to speak proper English’ but Palin refused to meet with her. Then in 2010, she says, when Palin was promoting ‘some reality show or something’ and went to England and wanted to visit Thatcher, that Thatcher snubbed her and refused to meet with Palin.
I don’t know about Thatcher wanting to ‘teach’ Palin ‘how to speak proper English’, but why even go there? On a day when there is so much to be said about Thatcher, Coulter turns it into an attack on Sarah Palin. And then she spreads the liberal lie that Palin was snubbed by Thatcher which is not true (h/t: RWN):

Remind me which offices Miss Coulter has held, how many Senate, Congressional and Statehouse offices she has helped fill with conservatives and what impact she’s had on society? And she’s an Ivy League lawyer! Governor Palin worked her way up from the ground floor with no rich family, husband or famous name, like Hillary, for instance.

I think Ann Coulter is a republican operative. She is doing exactly what the little bug in her ear has told her to do. During the last presidential election, as she was campaigning for Romney, here in Florida, she was criticizing Palin when Palin was not even running (It appeared to be a payback for Palin’s refusal to endorse Romney) ( I think Sarah endorsed him the morning of the election). This proves come the republican presidential primaries, the insiders are going to destroy each conservative candidate that gets in their way. The dems know we will be a divided force unless we have a conservative candidate to support. Ann (Christie fest at first) and Rush both knew that and still pushed Mittens on us. Ann has been directed to damage Palin with conservatives and independents alike. What else could it be? Jealously, okay..Ann needs money & fame, okay. Palin is the real deal. I pray everyday Sarah or a person like her will run for president to where the Anns in the media can not influence the outcomes that they work for.
Ann has become nothing more than a media whore.
There’s absolutely no excuse for this attack on Sarah Palin even if it was true, which it isn’t.

But it’s impossible. Absolutely impossible. These snobby northeastern “establishment” GOP types are proven untrustworthy every single time. Ann Coulter is unmarried at age 51, probably barren and definitely bitter. What can I say, she is a manly woman. Any male who is attracted to a female like her is probably sissified.
Clearly. But the Guardian didn't attribute the comment to a Thatcher staffer, but to a "Thatcher ally." That could have been almost anybody. Probably a Tory MP or hanger-on who supported Thatcher 30 years before.
Most of them weren't really close to Thatcher, and many turned on her before they finally pushed her out of office. So the "nuts" comment is a "lie" and it isn't, depending on how you closely you read it and what you want it to mean.
Ditto for "snubbed." If one politician can't meet another for health reasons, some paper may call the mere fact of a refusal a "snub." It isn't really, but that's the sort of thing newspapers do all the time and get away with.
I don't know where Coulter got the "teach her how to speak proper English" story from. It looks like she might have made it up, or passed on some very obscure and unfounded rumor or speculation.
Ann, please issue an apology.
