Dozens of D.C.-area students were invited for a frank conversation about race Tuesday at the White House with Michelle Obama, Harrison Ford, and other members of the cast and crew of "42," the soon-to-be-released film about Jackie Robinson, the first African-American to play in Major League Baseball.
"I know I was mad just watching the movie," the first lady told the 80 students assembled in the State Dining Room, as Robinson's widow Rachel, who is 90, sat behind her. "It would have been easy for them to get mad or to give up. But instead, they [met] hatethey met hatred with decency."
The first lady also said Rachel Robinson "paved the way for me."
"I mean, watching anyone go through what Jackie and Rachel Robinson did‑the outright discrimination they encountered at every turn... And you're left just asking yourselves, how on Earth did they live through that?" Obama said. "How did they endure the taunts and the bigotry for all of that time?"
Robinson told the assembled students, who sat in rapt attention, that her husband had just wanted "a full life, a decent life" when he was joined the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947....

She could feel those chips on her shoulders getting bigger and bigger!
Lighten up Moose.
I wonder how mad she would have been if she knew Jackie Robinson was a Republican?
The left is all about fanning the flames of racial hatred.
Yo Moochie get over your superior ***!
Your people were not the only folks wronged in history.
The -itch is going to have it out for whites more than ever, now.
Look out Honkey mofo’s.
She doesn’t think black people shouldn’t be allowed to play in Major League Baseball? I guess she’s an Al Campanis-type of gal.
I will be so glade when she and her wife are finally out of office. They were given a chance to rid America of racial prejudice and all they have done is make it worse.
You can take the person out of the getto ...
Being “mad” is the Racist’s modus operandi...keeps the Bucks coming in...and votes.
Any opportunity to pick old scabs is pure gold to the race baiters. There will never be an end to the repetition of any incident, no matter how long ago or however it may have been erased by behavior since then. There can never be any forgiveness, there can never be any citation of the progress made since those earlier times, there can only be suggestions of retribution and reparation and there can only be a neverending blame of whites for the condition of blacks. And even there, it’s only blame, never a thank you for whatever progress has been made. Tiring. And race relations have never been worse in this country. Speaking of 0bama’s legacy.
"And the beat goes on..."
It’s the national media rehashing the white oppressor-black victim narrative and portraying racism as an endless one way street while simultaeously ignoring or failing to address the racism that likely fueled Chicago’s “youth” attacks, the Brunswick baby shooting, and Bailey O’Neill’s death.
The same media that stressed that George Zimmerman is a white Hispanic and then doctored tapes to make Zimmerman sound racist cannot even bring itself to say that all of Chicago’s 400-500 “youths” that rampaged in Chicago were black.
The American media is no better (and maybe even worse) than Pravda in it’s prime. Filling the populace’s head with lies, disinformation, and a narrative approved by the powers-that-be.
So what’s new? MO is mad when she’s eating free lobster.
They were given a chance to rid America of racial prejudice and all they have done is make it worse.
It’s a shame that the first black president had to be of
the absolute lowest calibre. They have done so much damage
in every way.
I bet she kicks her wife’s butt twice a day just for the hell of it. And to work up an apetite.
AMEN!
I swear does EVERYTHING make this woman mad..she probably thinks hockey pucks are racist because it’s black
