For all of you who think the military will not move against the civilian populace, google "Bonus Army". They will do as they are ordered.

Sorry to differ with you, but that was a very different era, with a very different populace. The dynamics of that one police action also can't be reasonably compared to the near explosive tensions between the federal gov't and the whole of the American people today.

Sure, the Bonus Army had every right to make the demands they made on the federal government, and yes, they were treated as brutally as any similar group in a third world dictatorship would have been, but compared to today's situation, it's apples and oranges.

Today's tensions involve every person in the country. Very few are of a neutral opinion on what's happening in our country. Americans are as polarized and divided as they were prior to the Civil War, and don't think our folks in uniform are any different. They're not mindless, unthinking robots who'll carry out whatever orders come down from on high.

They're in this thing too, and most will side with their brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, and neighbors, if push comes to shove.

Sorry guys, but I've been either active duty or actively supporting the military since 1976, and I can tell you that there will be those who will blindly follow orders. If the Bonus Army is too far back to make a point, how about Waco? Look up Gen. Boykin's contribution to that debacle. Or the 1967 Detroit riots....Look at commentary in this very forum where so-called conservatives want to rid the nation of liberals/democrats/illegal aliens/TSA/out of control cops/add additional demographic here. Geez - the military is a microcosm of the US populace. If a cowardly, malevolent government entity paints a group of US citizens as "terrorists", the military will shoot without question. If they are suspected of possibly siding with relatives, they will be transferred somewhere else so they can shoot somebody elses mother, sisters, fathers, neighbors.
