The US Military used a surprisingly large fraction of their assets and 250000 soldiers in Iraq, a geographic area less than the size of Texas, to combat what was never more than 10,000 jihadi armed primarily with short to medium range AK 47 assault rifles and RPG anti tank weapons.
After 5 years, the only reason we actually defeated them was because the local tribes got tired of being tortured and abused by foreign born fighters who were also demanding their daughters as tribute which was the final straw.
Since Obama was elected in 2008 something like 34 million guns have been sold and about 10 million have been sold in the last 6 months since the 2012 elections.
Annual civilian ammo purchases are several billion rounds per year.
Our military totals about 1.5 million men and women, most of whom are fighting FOR their country and have no intention of fighting against their country.
While I have no doubt that Obama and many others in his administration and the Democrat party would love nothing more than to turn their Brown Shirts loose on the American people and were actively working in that direction, I think that their behavior over the last 6 months has backfired on them and they have been stunned buy the reaction of the American people who have a pretty good idea of whats going on.
Even a lot very liberal people are very worried about the actions of the Obama Administration and are buying weapons to protect themselves.
The recent run on guns has stunned the political class and really scared the c**p out of the Politicians in Washington on a lot of different levels, not least because they can do the same math listed above.

We will be massacred. History says indeed people will savagely kill “the enemy” whilst smoking and joking. It is imperative that we do two things, one do not allow ourselves to be called the enemy. Two, keep connecting with one another, especially our military. A person must either experience a psychotic break or break the human bond to kill another.

That this question is even asked speaks volumes about the state of Acirema today. That it is a topic of discussion is even more telling.
Of course, the military will do as they are told. We need look no farther back into history than Germany, 1933-1945 to see how the miitary will act.
Those who disagree MUST follow Robert E. Lee’s example and that of the cadets who followed him - resign and leave. Take as many guns and rounds of ammo as they can and prepare to defend freedom.
OK, tell us the good news, i.e., how the country is going to be turned around and there will be nothing but sunshine and roses in our future.
