I wonder if an anti-DHS propaganda campaign would work?
That is, portraying the DHS employees as anti-American brownshirts, bent on the paramilitary political control of America.
Importantly, casting them as oppressive villains who are “enemies of the people”, criminals and “brutalitarians”, that the public should not tolerate, but oppose and condemn as a domestic threat.
In effect, make DHS employees “socially unacceptable”, in an effort to discourage people from enlisting with them.
Because the rebels have to get their ammo from somewhere.
Maybe they think they’ll have the People’s Liberation Army backing them.
At the last gun show there was a pretty good selection of .40SW, at least on the first morning.
There was tons of Russkie and other foreign ammo too.
I think the reloaders and manufacturers are beginning to turn the tide.
BTW, heard some comments there about remembering the price gougers later and how their businesses would suffer in the long run.
On the many other firearms and reloading forums there is a renewed interest in the less popular cartridges with many valid opinions as to accuracy, lethality, and availability.
many are opting for the .243 or most 6mm cases, one of the most accurate shooting the 6mm PPC as bench rest competition round is getting the public’s eyeball, because of the lack of the .223.
Some are looking at even the forlorn .222.
As for the .30 cal crowd the .300 magnums are getting the nod for long range to skip over the missing .308, and of course is the 7.62x54R used in many Russian and Polish rifles, a beast to shoot but still readily available.
Ammo is coming back, more places from CTD to Cabelas are on a daily basis adding available stock, the comeback may be faster and more resounding with prices falling to the basement, well not dirt cheap but I have a feeling some places like Walmart have been holding back shipments and will at the right time have pallets of the stuff all brought in at once, I have actually heard a WM employee suggest thats the plan.
I wonder if Obama wants the National Civilian Security Force to be similar to the Waffen SS?
After watching this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZ3QXxmcvss
about them I learned that they competed directly with the regular army (Wehrmacht).
Quote from the documentary (starting around the 3:20 mark):
“The head of the SS - Heinrich Himmler - wanted a unique, new force. An army of ideologically committed elite troops to rival the regular army.”
Obama did say, “We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”
