NY SWAT Cop Ridiculed After He’s Pictured with Eotech Rifle Sight on Backwards

New York – -(Ammoland.com)- A SWAT team in upstate New York is being mocked as an example of the difference between military and police training after an officer was captured peering through a backwards Eotech sight on his combat rifle.

As users on Reddit were quick to point out when the image was 1st posted, the reverse sight makes it effectively useless.

Users mocked the SWAT officers training and some went so far as to question the motives of some of the men serving in local law enforcement.

The officer is using a ‘military style’ assault weapon with a close quarters combat sight that costs roughly $500.

‘It’s disturbing to think that 1) none of his buddies corrected it, and 2) he’s in a real-life situation with his optic on backwards, which means he’s never fired that rifle with the optic on it, which means it isn’t zeroed and he thought it was OK to show up to a gunfight with an unzeroed weapon,’ wrote one Reddit user.

I clicked on this article because I mounted a SightMark red dot on my Ruger Mark 111 backwards two weeks ago. I had never used a red dot before and didn’t know much about them. I was very frustrated until I looked at pictures on the internet which suggested mine was on backwards. Voila! Of course I never had pictures taken with me trying to sight it with it mounted backwards.

When SWAT comes after real Americans, we’ll have to send them this picture with the caption:

The sight is correct, it’s the rifle that’s backwards!

Bump!

I love my model 94. And with Williams receiver sight, hee hee hee

Short range though, but extends a bit with Hornady FTX bullets.

Also use them on my model 71 348, that is a really fun lever. The 71 with 200 gr FTX @2200 fps it will take down anything on the American continent.

Well, I can actually see the reticle, so I have to assume I installed it correctly. Looking forward to sighting it in.

“They consider a 6” group at 100 yards to be exceptional. Your average red neck could outshoot them with iron sights on a ‘94 Winchester.”

7 of 10 in the 12” bull at 200 yards, irons sights, M-14, offhand position.

7 out of 10 in the 20” bull at 500 yards, prone.

No bench rest, no ‘scope.

Red neck & frozen ears. Parris Island, Feb. 1968.

On his behalf, they could have an armorer who installed it incorrectly. But they should stiill be sufficiently knowledgeable to eventually discover it. Somebody from FR needs to call em!!!
