I highly doubt his late wife Barbara would appreciate Ted’s position on this issue.
well this certainly gives the appearance of impropriety AND the appearance of bias.
Will this be reported on?

While the emails are interesting, I’m just not seeing anything here that could be considered actionable. *shrug*
The whole thing stinks: the people of California vote to preserve real marriage and the gays throw everything into court. A gay judge is assigned the case - and to no one’s surprise, rules for gays and against the people.
The sliminess is stunning, yet we’re all supposed to pretend that it’s just fine.
THIS is what “happened” to Teddy:
“ On October 21, 2006, Olson married Lady Booth, a tax attorney from Kentucky and a lifelong Democrat.[10][11]”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodore_Olson married a SLIMEY A$$ Democrat LAWYER!
If he’d had a direct financial interest in his ruling he’d have to recuse himself. How is this any different?
This whole thing stinks of deep judicial impropriety. And while the judge got away with it, for his decision to be overturned would in addition to restoring prop. 8, also be a rebuke to his misconduct.
