This is the attitude that Barack Obama is taking with him on his first official visit to Israel as president.
When President Obama was asked by a group of Arab-American leaders during a meeting last week on why he did not intend to launch a new peace process, the leader said that Israel was not ready to make concessions, the Israeli newspaper, Haaretz, cited an official, who was present at the high-level meeting, as saying.
The official, who kept his identity anonymous, said the U.S. leader was frustrated with fruitlessness of the peace process, claiming it would be pointless to pressure the Israeli government at this time.
Obama arrives on Wednesday for his first trip to the region as president.

“...said the U.S. leader was frustrated with fruitlessness of the peace process...”
Who knew the peace process grew fruit....
‘Peace’ to Muslims is like ‘compromise’ is to Democrats. If the other side doesn’t cave to all of their demands, it can’t happen!
He hates Jews and Christians, just like his co-religionists.
Just pathetic to have this ignorant, low-life represent our country . . . the man is anti-American, anti-Semitic, rather stupid, unaccomplished . . . and he is speaking for Americans. Pathetic.
Having Obama speak to the Muslims about Jerusalem is like trying to put a fire out with gasoline. In fact he may start a war; probably his intention.
So, 0 thinks he speaks for Israel, now? Unmitigated gall.
His idea of “peace” is another big “piece” of Israel turned over to her enemies. Naturally, Israel isn’t “interested” in such (dangerous) bullshit.
Obama, whether he understands this or not, is correct. Peace-Making is imposing through Combat your superiority. Israel would prefer that the UN Observers do their job rather than scurry back into Israel when faced with violations of the peace accords in the Sinai. It is Obama’s favored religious participants in the Middle East Conflict who want WAR.
For once he tells the truth, but of course, throws Israel under the bus.
You cannot have peace with a people who teach their children that someday they will kill all of you.
/sarc? Maybe he will have something happen to him while there /sarc?
Israel has traded many times, always something of value for promises of peace that are not fulfilled. The only exception was the peace with Egypt, which worked until the Muslim Brotherhood took power. Israel's net gain after trading land and money for promises of peace? Zero. Obama loathes the Jews, which is why he will not admit that the problem is the empty promises that Israel has settled for so many times, not Israeli readiness to make concessions.
The president didn't make this statement.
Is the president an idiot on virtually every subject? Without a doubt.
But don't entice me onto a thread with made-up quotations...
I've been watching the Bible series on the History Channel and you see plenty of wars from Jericho to the Romans before Muslims were ever the enemy. There has never been peace there, only intervals between wars. This latest will probably be endless between descendants of the brother who got the land and the brother who got the population seed. How would Solomon decide?

I’ve been enjoying the book, reading it carefully, and doing some highlighting.
