The sighting of a Department of Homeland Security Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) at a gas station near Ybor City, Fla. on Wednesday is raising questions, concerns and fears about what the federal government is foreseeing in terms of likely needs for such armed and armored transports.

The Air Force Special Ops don’t have gasoline for training, and are paid poverty level wages. Meanwhile, TSA got 50 million for uniforms, and show off the latest war toys in their recruitment tents at airshows. WAKE UP AMERICA!!
Like I said; the least of their worries would be ‘right wingers.’ If they shut off the internet and telephones everyone would almost instantly know. No need for the MSM to report it.
Modern Survival Blog has a posting from last year, updated just about a week ago, that deals with the question of the 2,700 MRAPs. Take a look at this webpage. It all gets kind of curious.
If you read the thread, you will see that I read that blog and was inquiring how it and the Running Wolf blog compare, Running Wolf linked to the Marine Corps purchasing 2717 MRAPS (see post 34).
You may have noticed at your link that Modern Survival blog has this update:
Update 3/7/20113
It has recently been brought to my attention of (ahem cough ) official word with regards to the apparent number of MRAPs owned by the DHS according to a DHS spokesman.
Since this original post, an article written by Business Insider is excerpted as follows:
The Department of Homeland Security is using 16 military-style, mine-resistant ambush protected vehicles for use during high-risk warrants, according to an official spokesman
The MRAPs were transferred to DHS from the Department of Defense, free of charge
The vehicles are modified for use with the DHS Special Response Team specially trained, fully armored agents dispatched during the most severe and high risk situations
[The vehicle] is used in the execution of high-risk warrants including drug trafficking, smuggling, and contraband, We have 16 MRAPs nationwide.

I don’t have a dog in the fight either, I don’t know what the limits of acceptable posting were to be on this thread, but I sure don’t know know how I could have broken them. The limitations must have been extraordinarily restictive.
Mike Rogers, Alabama.
One of his reps would be my source. Spent about 10 minutes on the phone with him and he would have stayed longer if I would have needed him too.
Thanks for the info.
My Dad and I both lit a fire under that office when we first started our little investigation...He has bigger fish to fry, but I have a feeling he has gotten a few calls on this issue already...
I’m sure he is hip to the idea, and if there was a realistic, and immediate threat, that needed real exposure, then we would have heard more about this from his office and a few others we can suspect would be on our side of the equation...
I believe, for lack of a better tactic, should just be vigilant, spot these vehicles and these “crews” out doing their thing, and keep everyone on the same page...
I believe the secret is in what they allow us to see...Our conclusions would be well founded in any case...
ANY deviation from what they have said, and what they do, would obviously be something to make a point about if they expand their scope of work...
Right on. Gotta protect your base. Err, their base. LOL!
A couple of observations on the video:
1. Interesting that the narrator talks about how heavily armored it is, then discusses having “operators” riding along outside on the running-boards.
2. The rear cover of the rear-axle differential didn’t look to be unusually strong. Potential for “mobility kill”.
Thanks for playing.

Your turn.
Amazing that some young British rockers in the 1960s were so prescient, and had such sweep and versatility.
Now the DHS says they have 32, no plans for more.
I've been refreshing the thread from time to time. In the meantime, I was curious to find what I could about these DHS teams. I ran across some footage of one staging for a gang-sweep operation in San Francisco, along with their trusty MRAP.

People can’t organize without then internet? That’s news to me. There are all sorts of communication methods that do not take the internet. Just last week there was a story about how USB drives were being passed around in North Korea as a method of communication. They are smuggled in from China. If The North Koreans can find a way, so can Americans. Granted, it would not be as fast but it will still occur.
I agree that it wouldn’t be hard for the right government to kill the internet, cell phone, land lines and maybe even jam ham radio frequencies. They are not the only methods of communication. People are crafty, some don’t herd well and will not play by the rule of the oppressor.
I am just trying to convey that there are options no matter what happens. There are ways one can deviate even 1 degree from the expected to make things difficult for any oppressor.
I completely agree. It is by design.
I’d say the theme of “Won’t Get Fooled Again” has finally undeniably come to be.
