Zimmerman gains 100 pounds in six months, wears bulletproof vest; lawyer blames stress

Murder defendant George Zimmerman looks startlingly different from the last time we saw him in court. He reportedly gained a whopping 100 pounds because of the stress of the upcoming trial. The former neighborhood volunteer watchman charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of teen Trayvon Martin on Feb. 26, 2012, in Sanford, Fla., reportedly always wears a bulletproof vest for fear of being killed.

According to FoxNews.com, 29-year-old Zimmerman also wears a disguise when out in public, which is not very often, and lawyer Mark O’Mara claims his client is in constant fear for his life. “He never feels safe—his security has been cut and he stays inside his secure location all day long due to threats,” O'Mara said.

The excessive weight gain in just six months is due to house confinement and the stress of the approaching trial, O’Mara said, adding that his client’s health is suffering as a result. Zimmerman’s trial is scheduled to begin June 10, but a Stand Your Ground hearing will take place April 27.

This hearing is for a judge to decide if the defendant warrants protection under the SYG statute. If the court rules that Zimmerman killed Martin because he feared for his life and was indeed standing his ground, he gets to walk free and there will be no murder trial...

He should get a reward and a medal for eliminating a thug and drug abuser from society who would have gone on to prey on innocent victims. We need at least one George Zimmerman in every neighborhood. Based on how Stand Your Ground is written in Florida, he should've never seen the inside of a jail cell. And what is happening to the criminals who put a bounty on his head?

I will tell you one thing about Zimmerman. Early on I donated a lousy $20 to his defense fund through Paypal.

6 months later, I get a hand signed thank you card in the mail from George Zimmerman.

Among those things on the agenda is a defense request for Witnesss 8’s medical records. Afterall she did say that she was unable to attend the wake? or funeral? or both because she went to the hospital.

If the state is not engaged in nefarious activity and pulling a switcheroo regarding this witness then there should be no objection by the state that incidentally is still withholding Witness 8’s name and address from the defense.

Another motion is for the state to turn over the real retail store security tapes and take back the blank ones that it gave the defense. These tapes may show that Martin got a lift home that night from his 711 friends.

I hears a liberal commentator report on the current status of this case. In his intro, he stated how the only crime the dearly deceased in this case was guilty of was walking at night with an ice tea and skittles. I was so incensed I almost drove off the road!

I lived in those gated communities in FL for a number of years, and was happy to get out when I saw the TM trend developing in the FL real estate market. I hope to God that all who have turned this into a case celeb and vendetta to advance an agenda get their full comeuppance for their lies...

He knows he has no life, now or in the future. He’ll either go to prison for life and be raped and/or murdered there or he’ll be murdered before, during or after his trial. Did you read the comments below the article? 99% of the populace believe all the lies about poor, little Trayvon. My heart goes out to George Zimmerman, whose chance for ever returning to a normal life is zero. Apparently, in this country, we are no longer allowed to defend ourselves if we are being threatened in any way. We’re just supposed to lie down and take it.

Actually all the weight he is carrying might just work in his favor.

Some of it can be explained as due to the bulletproof vest he has to wear out in public -- that Tracy Martin, Sybrina Martin, Ben Crump, the DeeDees, et al don't have to wear because their lives have not been threatened.

Also everyone knows that fat guys are slow -- so how could that older fat guy like George run down a svelt swift teenager who had a 30 second head start???

And finally everybody knows that it's hard for fat guys to get up once they are knocked down, thus making it easier for someone lighter like Martin to get on top and pound on them "MMA style".
