The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
works a little better if you stick it through the mail slot first... assuming you can get the requisite angle
That is WOrld Class stupidity.
Shoot through the door?
Good way to whack the UPS guy!
Joe don’t know his target, a primary rule. Tsk, tsk, that could be Senator Diane knocking at the door. Or Pelosi. Uh, good things could come from old Joe!
Personally, I’m happy that someone in government is preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse, even if it’s only Joe Biden.
Any person who would shoot without making sure of their target is one I don’t want anywhere near me.
Shotgun Joe ain’t going to be receiving any Candy Grams.
Hey Joe, why doesn’t your security detail all carry shotguns?
The same applies to me. No bugger off, Joe.
Shoot through the door? Sociopath.
The hazard pay for the Dominoes delivery driver ain’t gonna be cheap.
Most people can handle a shotgun a hell of a lot better than they can a semiautomatic weapon in terms of both their aim and in terms of their ability to deter people coming. We can argue whether thats true or not...
There is no argument Joe, you're absolutely, unquestionably wrong. My AR is lighter, shorter, and has less recoil than my 12 ga pump. They both have adjustable stocks. But in terms of being able "handle" them in a CQB situation, I'd take the AR. My shotgun is a backup to both the AR and a 9mm. Yes I realize a pistol grip shotgun is even shorter and lighter than the AR. Mine was in a pistol grip only configuration when I bought it. Guess what, they look good in movies, but are almost useless in real world self-defense scenarios. The only decent way to fire them is from the hip. Holding them up and trying to sight down the barrel is difficult. It is hard to achieve a steady aim, hard to control the recoil with your arms at that angle.
As for aiming - the shotgun has no rear sight whatsoever, and only a small gold dot front sight. My particular AR has an adjustable aperture rear sight and post front sight. Even I, a fair shot at best, can reliably aim and hit out past 100 yards. Well beyond what can reasonably be "sighted down the barrel" with the shotgun. Yes I know I could put after market sights on the shotgun. But unless you plan on shooting slugs, there's not much point.
... but it is no argument that, for example, a shotgun could do the same job of protecting you.
Wrong again Joe. My shotgun only holds 6 rounds. My AR 30. (I could get even bigger magazines) I have to manually load shells one at a time into the shotgun to reload. I can reload the AR in a couple of seconds by swapping mags. The shotgun cannot be fired with precision past a pet or non-combatant into a threat.
The shotgun is a good choice, but it is not the ultimate choice, not for everyone. For Joe to promote it as the be-all end-all of home defense weapons just shows how little thought he's put into it, how little he actually knows about it. Hey Joe, is your protective detail armed only with long double barrel shotguns? Didn't think so.
This could be exceedingly dangerous, as any pellets which didn’t penetrate could very easily rebound on the shooter (i.e., you).
In addition to being stupid and utterly irresponsible advice, it gives another meaning to his nickname, “Plugs” Biden.
Yosemite Biden...
Thanks for the advice, Joe! I can’t wait for the next census!
Shooting through a door can be an unmitigated disaster.
Oscar Pistorius in South Africa is a case in point.
Biden teaches at the Oscar Pastorias school of tactics.
