The beginning is where I believe many of our low information voters are. If only more would follow the same path of realization.

It is not liberal nor is it conservativeYes, it is. No one can help if we can't identify the problem. The problem is modern liberalism, leftism, socialism, whatever you'd like to call it. Big, unaffordable government that makes more and more people people dependent is the problem. A majority of Americans, much like Europe, want freebies courtesy of fewer and fewer productive tax payers.

Welcome! Careful, one can get vertigo when one suddenly removes their head from their "nether regions". I remember it clearly even though it was almost twenty years ago.

It is not liberal nor is it conservative. It is American. Preserving America is the cause.”
...is this like “crossing the aisle”? Sorry but being a liberal is as anti-American as it gets. Liberals don’t want to “preserve” America. They want it changed into something it was never meant to be.

I bet that this person was only too happy to tell people “I’m really not political at all” when (s)he was in his/her “greater good” phase.

If only more would follow the same path of realization. You didn't really expound on how that came about. It's a little unusual for someone to flip 180 degrees on the entire spectrum of issues and philosophies. I'm glad you did but I'm curious, and it might be useful to others, to know what sparked your awakening. Was it just the fact that your paycheck wasn't going as far as it used to?

Better late then never, but it is really late. To make matters worse, we have 80+ republicans signing on to allow same sex marriage, and you know that abortion restrictions will now go out just as fast. Maybe the GOPe are really telling us that they want us to leave the party. Someone mentioned the other day that we need a party and to call it the party for America. WHatever, we need something NOW.
