By the time of this writing (Feb. 22nd), several RINO Senators Mike Johanns and Deb Fischer of Nebraska, Thad Cochran of Mississippi, John McCain-Feingold of Arizona, Lindsey Gramnesty of South Carolina, Richard Shelby of Alabama, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, and Susan Collins of Maine, intend to vote for cloture (i.e. breaking the filibuster) on Chuck Hagels nomination for SECDEF, thus allowing it to proceed to the floor, where it is sure to pass as the Democrats have 55 votes.
If these RINO traitors vote for cloture and thus vote to allow the Democrats to confirm Hagel along party lines (which, BTW, would be a first for a SECDEF nominee), we must vote them out of office. All of them. No ifs, no buts.
We must primary all of them (including the pseudo-conservative Deb Fischer) and, if they somehow survive the primary, support their general election opponents.
No forgiveness, no ifs or buts, and no get-outta-jail-free-cards for McCain.

McCain is evil and AZ would be well to heave him out of office once and for all.
Hagel is an anti-Israel, leftist POS and you think we should still back him? Sorry dude, that will never fly at FR. Are you as cloudy of mind to actually believe that Obama would pick someone that is a decent American? You yourself called him a commie (which is true). Why are we to suddenly believe that this commie would pick a good American? Hagel is of the lowest order just like his commie master.
This is a rather pointless place in the sand to be drawing lines. Whoever gets appointed is going to do exactly what Dear Leader wants him to do. Hagel is no better and no worse than any other oxygen thief who would wind up with the job. Arguing about who is going to supervise a bunch of suck ass political yes men generals is a waste of time and energy. It’s Obama’s way or the highway and men of honor have already chosen the highway.
AZ is becoming increasingly Blue, and it’s the Dems who vote him in. Indies are allowed to vote in the GOP Primary, and a lot of Indies are really Dems.
That seat is safely McCain’s until he dies in office. You heard it here first.
What percentage of voters are illegal aliens, do you think?
Not many. We have enclaves that are just very liberal, like Tempe and Tucson. More than half of our Congressional delegation are Rats. The voters are citizens from liberal places, like New Yawk and Minnesooota. They bring their liberal crap-think with them. While we encourage more to come be like us, what we’re getting is people who come, and then insist on things being done the way they were back there where they didn’t like the results. It’s madness.
IOW, it’s liberals.
Liberals from the NE moved to FL, then needed to "escape heat & humidity" and crowds and crime their policies produce, escape to No. Carolina for cooler climate, peace and serenity of mountains.
Unfortunately, they leave one spot and then take their love of big government, high taxes and all things liberal along with them, ruining a beautiful place, with the same liberal politics that ruined NE, then FL.
Jesse Helms, Senator NO could never get elected now, no doubt!
I see no good reason why it was passed.
I think it may have been to undercut the authority of state legislatures, as well as to make access to the Senate virtually restricted to the wealthy, as running state-wide campaigns does not come cheap.
Oh, and all this was possibly hidden behind, “We need to give the people a voice in picking their Senators.”
I believe it should be repealed: I do not care why it was passed.
I will go with the Founders on this one.
And you?
Wow! That makes sense! :-)
