Probably not. "Conservative" in governance doesn't allow for enough "liberalism" in the scope of government power for Nanny hot button issues. Gotta protect us from ourselves after all.

Socialists think everyone is a little bit stupid and need to be controlled. Social Conservatives think everyone is a little bit Sinful and need to be controlled.

A libertarian thinks your stupidity will serve a warning to others and expiation of your sins is up to you and your God, not the State.

It's an ongoing battle. 2 sides wanting more control. A small minority 3rd side thinking that whole freedom thing was a good idea.
