On Monday, Dr. Jim Garrow, a renowned author and humanitarian who was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 2009, sparked a firestorm of controversy when he wrote on Facebook that President Obama wants military leaders who will fire on U.S. citizens. In an exclusive interview with Examiner.com, Dr. Garrow said the man who told him this is a military hero who is known by everybody in the country.
"I have just been informed by a former senior military leader that Obama is using a new 'litmus test' in determining who will stay and who must go in his military leaders. Get ready to explode folks," he wrote.
"The new litmus test of leadership in the military is if they will fire on US citizens or not," the unnamed military officer reportedly said. Dr. Garrow also wrote that those who do not meet this litmus test are being removed.
On Tuesday, Dr. Garrow said that officers who know about this cannot come forward without endangering themselves and facing possible retaliation from the administration.
According to Dr. Garrow, the officer who made the allegation learned about the litmus test from the person who got him interested in military service. That person, Dr. Garrow added, was forced out for failing to meet the criteria.
Dr. Garrow said he promised to keep the officer's name from the public, adding that he stands behind what he was told regardless of the consequences.
"I would stake my full reputation on this gentleman," he said.

I think this is very likely true... all signs are definitely leading to it complete with the push for gun control.
I remember when this was a hot topic on the emerging modern talk radio.
Twewntynine Palms survey of Marines, 1994
Consider the following statement: `I would fire upon U.S. citizens who refuse or resist confiscation of firearms banned by the U.S. government'."The question was then posed as to what degree the individual Marine agreed with the Statement.
According to the results given in Cunningham's thesis, a total of 88 percent, or 264 Marines, responded to the question.
Of the 264 who responded, 26.34 percent, or 79 Marines, indicated they would be willing to "fire upon U.S. citizens."
Of that total, 18.67 percent, or 56 Marines, indicated they "agree" with the statement, and 7.67 percent, or 23 Marines, indicated that they "strongly agree."
A total of 61.66 percent, or 185, indicated that they were opposed to firing at citizens.
Of the total, 42.33 percent, or 127, indicated they "strongly disagree" and 19.33 percent, or 58, indicated they "disagree."
In his thesis, Cunningham noted: "This particular question, unlike the others, elicited from 15.97 percent of the respondents with an opinion, either heavier pen or pencil marks on their response or written comments in the margin space. The responses to this scenario suggest that a complete unit breakdown could occur in a unit tasked to execute this mission,"
However, it becomes clear that a poll would be useful in determining which soldiers, and in this case Marines, would be willing to undertake such a mission, to fire upon U.S. citizens."
“It would be a risk for sure, but that’s what heroes do.”
Exactly.
Makes sense to me. What good is NDAA without the right people to enforce it!
I’ll believe it, maybe, when the “military hero”—the “former senior military leader”—tells us all. And that’s a maybe.
Has it ever happened in another country? If so, it can happen here, given enough time.
>>He would need more than officers who would order their men to fire on citizens. He would need soldiers willing to carry out those orders.
Exactly! When the officer orders his men to fire on the citizens, he might only hear one shot. I guess Obama will be embedding Political Officers with all troops now.
Just like Germany in the 30’s...and we dumb Americans used to ask the question how could German citizens have been so stupid in electing Adolph Hitler.
If something like this would have been said of any previous president, the country and MSM would have been up in arms.
What a repulsive notion — a president who is looking for people willing to kill those who put him in office.
It just shows how low we have sank as a nation.

Uh 1.4 billion rounds of +P critical defense frangible rounds of ammo for DHS. They are coming to get us at some point.
Stalin got rid of his generals too.
Too many of our military people are too good of a citizen for me to believe this. I’m not saying there can’t be elements like this but not many.
In my truck we wondered how 700 grunts were going to control hundreds of thousands of angry Americans but there was no doubt among us that we would FOLLOW ORDERS. That's what soldiers did then and that's what soldiers always do.
Thankfully it all turned out peacefully and we went back to our normal duty of burying dead warriors with honor.
According to the results given in Cunningham’s thesis, a total of 88 percent, or 264 Marines, responded to the question.
Of the 264 who responded, 26.34 percent, or 79 Marines, indicated they would be willing to “fire upon U.S. citizens.”

These Marines have to remember that there are generations of veterans who were trained on the same weapons they’re using and those veterans are equally adept at marksmanship to this day.
If They start a battle they’re going to get a rude awakening.
/yes, yes..I know, I'm feeding this idiot. No need to say it.
That was AWESOME! LOL
The Kent State event in 1970 is the most recent I believe. There was another one in 1963 when hundreds of thousands marched on Washington, D.C. in MLK’s Freedom March
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Kent State, IMNSHO, was the result of poorly trained NG members - they didn’t get the training etc they do now.
BUT it did stop the storming of college campuses etc.
As to the 63 event, I was stationed at Cheltenham MD (near Andrews AFB) and as an RM didn’t really get into it like the Army and Marines but it was ‘tense’.
After JFK’s assassination we were on shut down for a couple of days while things were being sorted out.
Like you mention below ‘We would follow orders’.
Back in 50’s/60’s there were stories of ‘dungaree liberties’ on towns that made their living ripping of Military types.
As to the question of “Would you shoot an American”, I would like to see the entire list of questions and see what the questions leading up to the ‘big kahuna’ were.
Lot of times those ‘psych tests’ are used to trick an answer out of you...like in 200 questions the same question may be asked and it should be the same answer but it depends what leads up to it.
When I took my psych exam for Submarines one of the early questions was of a sexual nature and (I was 23 and ‘knew everything’ and was a salty 6 yr vet) the thought running through the mind was if I answer to the male side they may think something ‘wrong’ with me and if I answered to the ‘female’ side they may think I was obsessed with something I couldn’t have.
Anyway, when the page was turned (couldn’t go back) the question required the opposite of your first answer..
Lets face it LEO shoot/kill and/or arrest Americans on a daily basis - mostly because they were doing ‘wrong’ but how hard would it be to tell your troops that the citizens of (say) Los Angeles were attempting to overthrow the Govt...and get told that while airborne enroute to an unknown location....
When you are young and full of P—s & Vinegar no telling what may happen.
One of the earlier ‘scenarios’ had National Guard from VA being sent to Washington (state), Nevada to New York etc, where it takes the ‘personal aspect’ out of it....
But like another poster said, there are a lot of us that had the same training and trained on weapons and tactics, though outdated some things basically don’t change - what the Military has to ‘worry’ about is if all aren’t committed and “we” can get to them they may turn if they find they are being duped....
Obama is far worse than almost any American can imagine. It is because we cannot imagine such evil that it is able to prosper. It’s time to get wise.
I recall the Kent State shooting and -- just as important -- the times.
I do not recall this thread but it appears to be some of the "rest of the story."
New light shed on Kent State killings--Shots fired at Guard, declassified files indicate
Washington Times.
As I recall (I did not read the linked article) Gov. Rhodes called out the Ohio National Guard because of violence and trouble in the town of Kent; plus knowledge that it was going to get worse there.
.. and speaking of the times -- how about Bill Ayers and the lovely Mrs. Ayers (Bernardine Dohrn)? to wit, Officer Down Memorial Page -- Ayers and Dohrn were not guardsmen but people died because of them.
